I plan on building a custom oil pan so I can move the motor forward 2-3 inches, because right now the mounts are 8 inches farther back than stock, and that rusty L16 mount is too close to the steering box:

 

Here is my idea to modify the stock CA16DE intake:

if you are doing this just to avoid flipping the x-member, bad plan bro, flip it, its easy compared to what you got goin now.

It looks like the throttle body is upside down :D Not that it maters or anything. Have you picked up a tranny yet?

Motor #3: a L18 with dual 44mm mukunis, and a 280zx 5-speed all for $700, it even included a shortened drive shaft

The L18 has the best chances of running this year....

But I have a fiberglass 510 with a busa motor on the drawing table....

That L-18 doesn't look too shabby to me. Run it. Driving a dime in progress is a lot more fun that looking at one while you figure out your plans for it :D

#1 wheel demesions, size and offset? and are you running spacers?

 

#2 tire size?

 

#3 what approach did you use to get the rear end sooo low?

 

i love the way yours looks, i'm not planning on going quite that low, but i want something to go off of.

You might want to open the cowel drain back up, or you will end up with either a bunch of water pouring into the interior or stuck in the cowel.

Panasport 16x8 +12mm offset, 225/40/16 tires, and a 3/8" spacer, and they fit that low with stock 510 struts that are shortened and re-threaded.

The coilovers hit the tires if I go any lower, they can go 2" lower.

 

#3 The rear end is stock with really old springs that were cut. I will do something better someday. But for now I have the only 510 with bags in the trunk:

Yeah,,, I think I have to shave the cowl, even though it will look wierd and the windshield will fog up.......and yes I regret cutting the firewall....:blink:
