chiquapen
this is a great tread!! i called a guy a few weeks ago that specializes in antique restoration. he said that he primarily only dealt with muscle cars, old mopar. needless to say i had to say something. i personally thought that a person could get just as much muscle out of a datsun as well as mopar. i've had that proof for years by living with doc, but now i see many pages of that proof!! well done guys. i cant wait til warm weather.... 1 Quote Link to comment
jun
I love this thread, so much inspiration! All motors posted thus far are winners in my book, but that last one by kdennis... WOW! Quote Link to comment
benzo
this motor set up is hard up. I like the header wrap on the intake man and I have been toying with getting a external oil feed and spray bar also and ITG filters. any idea of the estimated hp on this motor? Quote Link to comment

MicroMachinery
Sweet, I'm likin' this thread. Here's my engine that I built a few years ago for my 521. It's the numbers-matching L16. Quote Link to comment
kdennis
Thanks for the positive comments. Holy Epic L! kdennis: That Motor is gorgeous! Might I ask what you valve breather set-up is? I haven't seen one like that before. Does it push the oil/vapor back into the crankcase via the pressure/temp sender hole in the block? The others that commented are correct on the spray bar. Its an absolute must on a race engine. The cam would never survive without it. I am curious, why 210 head instead of A87 or W53 or 219 or v912??? This engine was built to SCCA Production rules. The rules required stock head casting and stock valve diameters. We didn't just take the first 210 we found an bolt it on. This head was carefully choosen after flowing 17 closed chamber 210 heads. It has almost no core shift and flows very very well. The V912 is an allowed alternate but with the 32mm choke restriction and the stock valve size there was 0 difference on the flow bench. Velocity proved more beneficial than total volume. The new engine was built for a faster class and is allowed larger valves. It has a brand new V912 on it. Quote Link to comment
