Guest jaimesix
Yes, no worries, we will meet later on. Just to let you guys know, the weather report says rain on Saturday night, Sunday during the day. If anyone has problems with the rain, let us now, since we are a selected few ( yes, only the best Datsun models are attending!:D ) better make sure we will be there. If rain is no deterance, cool, if it is, we can do it next Sunday.:) What do you guys say?? Jaime._________________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
zetozeto99
Rain is no problemo for me... I won't have to wash the ol' 810 I guess. ;) If it's pouring on Sunday then chances I won't be there but I doubt we will get a big down-pour. Count me in still.... Quote Link to comment

zetozeto99
So I had a blast today! It was cool hanging with some fellow Datsun owners... and ratsun.net members at that! It was bit damp and cold and the wind blowing dust everywhere was kinda irritating but at least I had some great company the better part of the day today. Here are some pix I snapped! 610, 710, 810... :D jaimesix showed up... finally! ;) Loved his wheels! Sweet Twin Weber'd 710... We were getting ready to leave when this little gem showed up... Apparently this older gentleman saw us all parked there in this parking lot and drove home to go pick up his 411. His poor wife stood in the cold for a few minutes until she stated she was going into Sears and he stayed out there chatting with us. He was the original owner of this fine classic Datsun! I loved your 610, Man! Really dig the muffler! Went out for a quick drive for pizza... Called a day after that and drove home and took a nap! :D It was great meeting everyone! I look forward to doing these regularly! Edited March 23, 2009 by zetozeto99 Quote Link to comment
Moisabamf
sorry guys the 'rents thought it would be unsafe for me to go out in the rain. i was about to leave and it hit our house, but next time for sure Quote Link to comment

Guest jaimesix
Yes guys, it was cool. Got to work it out, we got to meet more often. We got a sample of the best vehicles Datsun ever made! SlidingCreep's 610 was great. Lots of character, lowered, nice color, a cool ride. Zetozeto99's 810 wagon is a treat! Powerfull 6 cylinder motor, pristine condition, looks and performance combined. You are a lucky man Zeto!!! JrBrd's 710 is another cool ride, nice painted body, headers and twin sidedraughts ( Weber ), very cool. JrBrd's plans are to lower it and add a 5 speed transmission. Nice! Zerow showed up driving his non Datsun car. We pelted him with eggs and rotten tomatoes untill he was compelled to park his car around the block!:D Nah!, just kidding, he drove his daily driver to Sears, but it is all good, we know he has his cool SSS Sedan 610 in the lab....he promisses to show it to us soon. Nice catalog that one you showed me Zerow,:D invaluable information , incredible detail. If you ever learn of another one ( catalog ), please let me know. Like Zetozeto99 said, we were talking about Datsun stuff, I think Zerow was about to leave, I am not sure, but suddenly this cool 411 "R" showed up. This cool older man came in and showed us his car, owned by him since 68 or 69. It is a cool "R" 411, 67 model year. It is stamped "R" by factory because it does not have the regular J series engine, but the Roadster motor! Specialy made for this car ( 411 ) by the factory. It had some cool details, like the valve cover having a small bend to allow for installation in such small quarters. A factory engine light that dismounts from its base and works as a wired flashlight. The exhaust pipe exits through the left side, FRONT wheel well. This man is an enthusiast and he was a great thing to happen to us. His enthusiasm as he talked to us about his car and his accesories and maintenance was refreshing. Took pictures of some details, like the exhaust pipe and valve cover, as well as the flashlight. Later on we drove to SlidingCreep's hideout. We met his followers and ate some pizza. After a good time, it was time to go, I had an appointment in Huntington Beach. On our drive to the Pizza house, Jrbrd terrorized the neighborhood with his powerfull 710. All the cars looked cool , it was fun to drive next to all these Datsuns. Zerow drove next to us and took some pictures or video, I am not sure what it was, must be good though. Keep in touch guys, we have to get together regularly. I will post some pictures as soon as I load them up to my PC. Will post whatever has not been seen yet. Jaime._________________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
zerow
What a day! The drive was way worth it (80 miles each way). Jaimesix - Thank You for the coordination on this. Although there were only 5 of us, it was well worth it. Perhaps the intermittant rain kept people inside. sliding_creep - Nice coupe! I did not recognize her. It looks superb! jrbd10 - It was great to see your car up close. Mean sounding, but you definitely need the electronic ignition! zetozeto99 - Your 810 wagon is extremely clean. Hands down, best I've seen. I believe the older gentleman to be a member around here (MikeRL411?). He knew of my write-up on the SU air cleaners. We didn't get to formally ask, the car he brought was breathtaking! All right, now for the pics! Edited March 23, 2009 by zerow Quote Link to comment
B + M
Wow! its cool to see that group of cars together. very nice. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
You're right, that was me MikeRL411 and my 1967 RL411 SSS. When you have kept a car running for 41 years you get to know something about its background. It helps that the former mechanic for the USA Datsun race team worked at my local gas station until he retired about 5 years ago. I really miss his insights. Quote Link to comment
zetozeto99
Yes guys, it was cool. Got to work it out, we got to meet more often. Zetozeto99's 810 wagon is a treat! And I will definitely keep in touch! We gotta do this more often! What a day! The drive was way worth it (80 miles each way). zetozeto99 - Your 810 wagon is extremely clean. Hands down, best I've seen. Holy crap! Is it really 80 miles??? Your words are too kind! Thank you... I still feel it needs a little work and a better stance... but all in time. Hope to see you and your SSS soon! And thanks for the cool shot of my car! Quote Link to comment
Guest jaimesix
Hi. Mike, that is cool, I did not know you were a Ratsun member, I thought you appeared by chance. Cool, hope we do this many more times. Here a few pictures I got: We can see the group, cool Datsuns that made all the Sears customers envious! Close up of the rides: (*) Datsun 810, what a jewel, 6 cylinders of power , a true wolf in sheep skin! Zetzeto99's!!!! That hood has a cool torsion bar system, nice treat. (*) Datsun 710 . Jrbrd's bomber. (*) Slidingcreeps super 610. Very cool ride! (*) Jaimesix's 710... Unethical to judge my own car... (*) Mike's 411 "R" We saw this cool Datsun cruising through the lot, like a UFO landing in the middle of the desert to join other alien ships with secret agenda...this 411 was a great thing to land, and it made perfect sense parked next to our vessels! Here you see a special detail only 411 "R" Datsuns have. Roadsters do not have this valve cover with the special angled edge to allow mounting in proximity of the firewall. Unique detail!!! Interior in very good shape. Here we can see this cool factory lamp in engine bay that dislodges and acts as a wires flashlight! Neat! Here one of the coolest details ever, 411 Datsuns type "R" had the esxhaust pipe exit the engine compartment through the left side wheel well. Clearly, this Datsun is a factory bullet. Like the Zetozeto's 810 wagon, this is another wolf in sheeps clothing!!!! Soon Sears Datsun guys will get together again ! Guest jaimesix
I went over the limit images allowed per post in the previous post, so here are the last ones. Before driving over to SlidingCreeps' hideout, I had to thaw off some of the Datsun fans. Apparently they thought that sunny SoCal was warm and cozy. They got surprised by the air currents and unstable atmosphere....and at the mercy of the elements, they froze!! Yes, you think they are smiling, I thought that too, but soon I realized that sneer was nothing but symptoms of hypothermia!!! Loss of body function, blank stare, panic attacks!!! wake up you guys!!!!! Later on we drove to SlidingCreeps hideout! Here some photos. Jaime.______________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
