  11. I spent a whole day trying to get my friends old MGB started that had died on the freeway when i was like 19 or 20 (86-87) .. HUGE learning curve with the 6 volt positive ground system and points ,, in a parking lot with no manual at all ,,, I think it helped me understand points systems more than anything else i have ever done.... I just told this story yesterday afternoon to my 14 year old when we saw a old gray haired dude driving his faded red one yesterday with the top down , his tarp over the passenger seat and the scarf around his neck trailing him in the wind , over by the mall , he looked as content as any person ever.. Did i mention it snowed yesterday..
  12. Hell aluminum can`t stand up to hot tanking ,,, Is the engine going to be used as a step ladder when not powering car?? I`ve never had a problem with store bought engine paint ,,,, i think you can even get special mixed colors through Eastwood if you need wild or matching colors.
  13. So let me get this straight ,,,,,your going to have a machine shop rebuild your engine ,,then your going to take that engine down and get it sandblasted then powder coated??...Just make sure you tell the machinast that`s what your going to do while he`s filling out the warranty card..
  14. First time seeing this thread ,, and could not stop reading, if we could vote for thread of the year this is the one i would pick..

  16. Well it`s tan with what looks like lime green BRE stripes ,,,if you look juuuust to the left of the front of black car it`s right there..
  17. You really should take a ( good ) YouTube video of vehicle backfiring so the gurus on here can get a listen,, rather than go off your words.. Ok. (disclaimer) we dont have emission checking at all where we live The only things left of emissions is the charcol tank fume catcher thing and the PCV system,, car has never back fired, Like i said it has been his daily since April or May and he has put at least 15,000 miles on it ,,,being a high schooler in the summer and all. The only thing other than the normal strip stuff off is,, we cut down and plugged original EGR valve unit so that we could use manifold with bigger runners , have a cleaner look and still have stock PCV hose location........The air pumps on the car and the parts car he got were both seized up.. this into this and you can see most emissions are gone Wanted to also say me and my brother both have Webers on our older cars and they work fine,, but had to fuss with them to get them right..
  18. been straining my neck to see every single mini truck in my vision out on the highways..
