As i'm in USA and am unfamiliar with what kinda cars you guys will be competing against ,,, could you post a couple random pictures of others in class your going for out of complete curiosity ?? I'm asking because here most track cars usually have to run pretty much the same engine trans combos as came in car.. please. :)

Have you taken cable off and seen if it still does it?? If you tighten clamp at the end of cable sometimes it keeps it from moving freely...or worst case a frayed cable inside sheath..

I drove the car around last night and noticed that it had quite a bit more/easy take off power now,,, the gearing in the 5speed must be a lower first gear than the 4speed .. This makes me happy cuz i don`t really do long distances as much as around town/city puttering.. ... The trans does have a slight high pitched whine in 5th under load but i aint pulling that bitch out till after it`s trip to " the show" to see it`s cousins.. I just installed a Extreme Engineering crossmember in my 71 yesterday and it fit fine,, if your in doubt , measure from the bulge in the first circle under seat ( picture ) to bolt .. If it is 10 inchs (about 10 1/8th+ to center) your good,, the member is slotted so it doesn`t HAVE to be exactly 10 inches.. Bulge my member i just put in. The Z trans mount was bolted to trans like i mounted it but not sure which way it was supposed to point

Now with more speeds!!! I switched out the 5speed in the 720 (above) for the original 4speed laying in the bed ,, took the short 4speed outta the 510 and bolted in the long tail .. It is for the most part done but needs fluid that i dont have tonight ,, and the hole in floor fit-n-finished.. first i used the search button and found C boad posted driveline lengths in tr8ers build and had my unit cut down using his measurements.. My old one and cut down one together. I also bought a trans mount from David in South Park ,, he makes the ones that you see on Ebay http://vg30.com/ but i was in the area and just bought it in person. The guy i bought the truck from said he installed a new clutch but had never driven it,,, the disc still has stencil on it so i am believing it,, Here`s the old 4speeder and clutch that had only been in 510 for 2 years, ,, oh and the raggedy shifter ,, Trans in position with new crossmember ,,, wooo hooo!! On the Ebay ad he says that the crossmember wont fit a 71 because the floor bolts aren`t the same as all the rest ,,,but,, i bought it to save time anyway , and it fit just fine.. Car build date was 11/71 so it might be changed early for 72 model year .....IDK

I am happy to see you have brought Parent to parent on board ,,, they do alot to help families in adjusting and living with children with special needs.. We have had nothing but good things to say about that group since we started dealing with them 12 years ago.. Our twins ( born in 2001 ) had never ever been to an movie till parent to parent had Yelm theaters open early to show Toy Story 3 (2010) ,, many of the other families we know from school were there and it was their childs first movie also... :thumbup: :thumbup:

I have a son less than a month from graduating and i have many many old muscle cars big lincolns and rat rod vehicles in the backyard he could have built after his bronco ii blew up..... He chose a datsun because: a. the insurance on a 71 chevelle or 72 mustang fastback is considerably higher for a teenage driver.. b. gas was $4.50 a fucking gallon and a car that gets ,,,maybe,, 10 miles to the gallon is just plain goofy. The math is simple, drive a road monster and look cool as you go broke,,, or drive an import and drive all over..

FAT510s graduation is on the 11th but we only live about 150 miles away ,, so even if it was on the 8th it probably wouldn`t matter..
