    Whatever was in it used a dry sump oil system I believe. Look at the external Fram oil filter. LOLZ it used a Fram... no wonder theres no engine anymore. VERY neat!

      Congrats,Take it! do it, take advantage of education reimbursement and focus on the career only for a few years. Forget wrenching on Datsuns if necessary to be the best performing mgr they have!

    Well, that would be dandy but I'm poor. Hence why I drive a Datsun :rofl: Plus, this would be my first real engine rebuild. I'm kinda excited to do it, since I've never done one %90 by myself. The only thing I plan on sending it out for is for dipping the block and pressing in new cam bearings.

    For your Datsun engines?? Kinda curious since I wanted to rebuild mine, and ran across this website here. http://www.rpmmachine.com/engine-rebuild-kits-nissan-4-cylinder.shtml I was looking at their Platinum Kit for my A15, and since it advertises it comes WITH pistons and rings, I though about maybe having the block bored out to about .040 over when I pull it to be vatted. Just kinda curious whether or not it seems like a good price to you guys and want to know where you guys buy kits from.

    I painted my car with cheap rustoleum once. Reduced it with acetone and sprayed.
