The trick is that the straps I have to mount the frame aren't tall enough. I was going to bolt the tank to the bed and it fits perfect, but the frame rail that goes under the bed in the rear keeps the tank about 3 inches away. I can make a solid spacer, but the tank mounts still have too much flex to be comfortable with.

I need to have the tank hard mounted before I can weld up a frame to bolt to the truck, but I have to figure out a way to get the tank hard mounted without any flex in the brackets.

  5. Sweet lord Jesus... dat ass!! I think I can see myself in it
  6. Thanks guys. I wanted to plan it out ahead of time. I'm heading out to Summit Racing in a few minuets to get my fuel cell, and I'm strapping it in between the frame rails.
  7. Where the spare tire hands. Looks like it's just to support the rear tire, but I wanna make sure before I cut it out

  9. lolol hey man, that 210 was a beast! haha It pulled a tad bit harder then my 620 does now with a Weber and straight pipes. lol That little A motor had some serious balls when I was done with it
  10. Bump for my photobucket back online ;) I chopped off the exhaust yesterday because I needed to move it out to make measurements for my fuel cell. It's running a 2'' straight pipe that turns out right in front of the driver side rear tire. Sounds good as hell, but it's WAY loud. I'm picking up a resonator when I go by Summit Racing next week.
  11. +1. This is a GREAT idea for a thread. BAD: The dremel they sell that shonuff mentioned above is absolute garbage. Theres literally no torque and heats up very fast. Good: The 90 Amp Flux welder they sell is awesome for the price. I've had mine for about 8 months and use it a ton for exhaust, body repair, etc. It's not the best or strongest welder by any means, but it's great for little jobs. I wouldn't trust it on anything structural though. I also have the auto-darkening welding hood they sell, which is a big plus with the welder. It's cheap and makes a welding job easier to do since you're not constantly lifting the hood to inspect welds.
  12. WOW. That truck is nearly perfect
  13. It's not pulling air? is that what you're saying?
  14. Just adding to the collection. I knew you'd reply here
  15. Alright guys, don't give him hell because he doesn't want to inconvenience himself over something he's already literally handing away. It's understandable. That said, I hope these parts go to someone who can use them, and not hoard them for a vehicle they don't own. ;)

This one is noisy. It's temporary until I work out a better solution for my fuel cell measurements. Sounds good though!

  17. Well, maybe not WHEN wet, but after soaking them. I had to drive through 2 1/2 feet of water today to get home (pic below) and experienced the obvious reduction in braking strength I expected to get out of them, since it's 4 wheel drum brakes. I dryed 'em off by doing some hard quick stops to heat them up, and approached a light cautiously, hit the brakes, and noticed my braking strength had nearly tripled after going puddle jumping and drying off the brakes. I thought this was VERY odd and I'm very curious about what may cause this. After putting about 10 miles on the truck, the braking strength was back to where it was when I got the truck. It's sufficient and I have no real complaints, but I figure this is an obvious sign that my brakes aren't working at their full potential.
  18. Thanks guys! Lee, what are the specs on those tires?
  19. I may have a spare Z20E pan that I'll be willing to get rid of. I'll have to go dig through my stash
