well roadsters are a little more pricey on things then most datsuns, 510s are much cheaper overall.. *shudders* 1000 dollars for the ball joints.

well the 67.5 is the rarest but as for the most common that is a hard call. I'd say they all was super reliable it just depends on what you want with the car for the low windshield you'd go with a pre 68 model if you wanted a taller windshield then 68-70, the pre 68's had a flat dash as the post 68's had a padded vinyl dash. http://datsun.org/ has pretty extensive info on changes per year to year. I'd say with the roadster crowd it just depends on the person on which year that they want as some are happy with stock drum brakes all around or some want disc.

in my roadster I have to use yellow metal safe oil anyways, but yeah lucas oil additive gets super foamy, it happened in my vw some but their gear oil isnt as bad.

some people use soapy water and freeze to help bend as well.. Also just an FYI jegs has super cheap stainless line, which are pretty good.

my 63 vw gets 40mpg (cost me 1500 dollars but gets the same mpg as a smart car but lol I can seat FOUR people in it comfortably and go the same speed!) I don't need things like A/C and fancy pants features, I think its funny when people tell me I should get rid of my bug for a more environmentally friendly car like a pruis :rolleyes: Every day I get more and more tempted to buy something with a old big block v8 and just eat up some gas just to spite these assholes. I guess thats why I'm buying a kawasaki triple, 2 stroke gas eating gp fury!

We're already the greenest motherfuckers around, instead of allowing factories to pump out pollution to build us a new car we've been using cars that aren't super gross polluters that are 20+ years old. When we're all dead our cars will return to the earth just like us over these plastic turds driving around now.

There are tons of datsun forklifts around, nissan still makes them. Some of them had H20's in them which are close to the roadster motor.. I can use their engine parts in my R16 :cool:

I bought mine before the economy took a dump and wish I'd have waited as I could pick up a roadster with little to no rust now for 2500. I about sold mine to buy one in better shape, but decided to hold off and just finish what I've got as I wanted something *I* restored.
