I hate new cars also, but I would love to drive an R8 GT around some tight twisty roads. I could never see owning one though, that thing would cost 114 Datsuns (or more!)

You guys should open a body shop school. I wish I knew how to do half the stuff being done in this thread. It is amazing work and I look forward to drooling over this and all the other build ya'll have done.

Application was sent in for the promotion, no turning back now. Side note, UPS guy asking questions again. I am thinking of contacting his dispatch and asking if that is against policy. Or I could order from Jrock and have him drawn a bomb on the box :P

Haha, it is all good. I am just glad UPS didn't have any automotive accidents with that last grill. I still haven't unpacked it all, the dogs go crazy when the peanuts hit the floor :P

Neighbor drives his dad's 90 something ranger (late 90s), truck has over 400k miles and he beats the shit out of it. It isn't always the vehicle, its the mechanic. This guy spins the tires every day, not a little skip. Goes through tires in two months. But, he is a damn good mechanic and he keeps it running. I just hate ford because every one my mom and dad ever owned had the transmissions die on them, so I swore I would never own one.

Got more parts today. UPS guy thinks I'm buuilding a bomb or something... He keeps asking me what I am buying and peeking past me into the house. Hey bro, like my lab would be in the living room...

Did he send you a dump truck full or packing peanuts as well? He loves those peanuts I think. Really awesome seller even if it takes an hour to get the peanuts away from the dogs...

From what I have seen most people on Ratsun keep either 3 spare car/trucks/both worth of parts in a "parts" car in their garage/yard/lean-to. Personally I like having a fuel filter, oil filter, fuel pump, alternator, gasket marker sealant, some fuel hose, vacuum hose, hose clamps, and a spare tire or two on my other rims. That pretty much covers most things. Oh, and I have a spare battery.

Very nice trucks. I would really like to see more pics of the suspension set ups on both if you get a chance. The guys around here love pics so I suggest snapping as many as possible :)

For some reason I was expecting something completely different with the title, yet I still clicked it... Gotta remember the trolls live in general discussion, not general technical. As far as the tranny, I would stick with the short tail options. Whichever way you decide to go, be sure to document your work on Ratsun. More technical information is always good for the community.

I'm kinda interested in what the shipping would be from way over there, but there is no way I can buy it right now. Heck, I won't even have the B210 is would be for until Saturday, and that is if I can set up a time to see it :( So much to do and so little time/money.

I dunno, the old neons (which people say were the worst) had the same 420A engine that old eclipse (enter other named versions) had. The cooling wasn't great, but they were really fun to beat on. And cheap to replace. They weren't reliable, but they were fun to "race"

Hey... ok, I'm probably an amateur... However, I will work on ODB 2s, I just prefer not to. If it is 2000 or newer I try not to touch it at all. When the engine has more plastic than metal it is built to fail. That is my theory.
