    The Golden Bullet

That truck looks nice and simple. The only thing I am not a fan of are the large side mirrors, but to each their own. Gotta love the token leaned on dent, its just not a Datsun without that one :)
  2. Deem some strange boobies batman...
  3. Sadly I dont have access to many parts for Datsuns where I live. I'm sure you could find that in WA though. A lot of members are in WA/OR and they seem to find parts all the time. Also, I would suggest posting in the parts wanted thread. Usually people get back quick with the parts you need.
  4. Thanks, I think I will need all the luck I can get to change this land over. How do you like that TIG? I am thinking that I need to pick up a new welder because all I have is this: http://www.amazon.com/Firepower-FP120-14440304-115-Volt-Welder/dp/B0002STQ8M/ref=sr_1_124?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1361849419&sr=1-124&keywords=firepower Got it from a flea market for $75 and it works, so I can't really complain, but I want something that I feel I can trust with frame modifications.
  5. Wow man. Glad you made it out ok but how is the truck? Honestly there are a lot more humans than Datsuns still lying around... Seriously though, how is the truck?
  6. If he doesn't contact you back about the speakers I will purchase them on the first. Since he asked first I don't want to step on his toes. As far as shipping, it would probably be best to pick a flat rate box they will fit in and ship them that way.
  7. Well put, but next time you find a 510 for pennies on the dollar I call dibs! The only other vehicle I have had that I felt any real connection with was my 89 B2200, but honestly I hated working on that truck. My 620 is fun to work on, and so far, it has responded great to everything I have done. It is like Datsun's know when they are being cared for so they try harder. I know it is probably just the fact that you are replacing a part that has sat in a feild/barn/swamp/ect for the past 10-30 years, but my truck likes me for it :P
  8. Those old 90s 4dr civics are only nice with roof racks. As far as 510s, those are my favorite Datsuns besides the 610s, so I can't knock their boxy style.
  9. How much do I need to save up to purchase a 4dr 510 before I start really looking for one? I know I am looking at $300-900 for shipping so I was thinking 3k, sound about right? Doesn't need to run at that price :P

  10. Indeed, because racecar ftw :) I have to agree with walking away looking back at my truck. Today, just cause I could, I parked beside a lowered 90 civic sedan. The lines of my 620 vs his box civic made his car look like a child's card board race car.
  11. Jbuck281 also contacted me with exactly what I wanted. I did not contact him back because someone had updated their status that day saying to watch out for him. Unless this guy has a Datsun warehouse somewhere I don't see how he could have everything we need, and if he does have a warehouse, someone would probably know about it or I would think they would have better payment options.
  12. No smog is a great thing. Luckily smog has not been implemented where I live, but last year a report said that Jones County contributed to the second most smog in Atlanta... Jones County is over 50 miles from Atlanta and is mostly considered a suburb of Macon (also 50 miles from Atlanta)... The cops around here are greedy so I think they want to add smog to the tickets the write.
  13. Haha, it would take a bit before I am ready for one. I am in the process of petitioning the county to rezone my grandmother's land so that I can purchase an acre. Then I will begin building my shop. County is being a real pain. The land is in the boonies and zoned AG1, but it hasn't been used for AG1 in over twenty years and there are only 5 acres, so you could never make a farm large enough to make any profit. :frantics:
  14. BEEBANI - Got my front disc setup today for the 620. Great quality, good prices, and patient with all my little questions. Now I have to stop being lazy and pick up the last few parts for the conversion :)
  15. So, it is early and I set my clock just so I could have a cup of coffee and go back to bed, but before I head off to another slumber, I decide to get on Ratsun. The more I look at all of the accomplishments in these different builds, I begin to get an idea of why I will actually get out and work on my 620 in the rain, but my civic has a blown head gasket from last April... First off, the group at Ratsun, even the trolls, make it fun to do something to these vehicles. You get regular feedback and usually atleast someone has tried what you are doing, or they have atleast researched it and will usually help out. Another big one is with these vehicles being 30+ years old, you usually have to do a lot to them to actually mess them up. While your personal choice may not be what the average person likes, 90% of the drops/chops/lifts/ect are usually an improvement over the worn out suspension and new engines are a way to keep these unique vehicles on the road. And lastly (or at least last I can think of while half asleep), these vehicles are simple. I don't have to remove 60lbs of plastic to change the oil filter or worry about breaking the v-tec solenoid connector. If the engine runs like crap, that is my check engine light. These vehicles have more character than the clone cars produced today. I still think it is hilarious that two companies produced the exact same car under different names with different prices, rather than going the old school route and just badging the vehicle in some special way to show that both companies collaborated on the design. Well Ratsun, why do you like your Datsuns? Because racecar?
  16. Ugh, I ache from doing the suspension yesterday. It was worth it to have the 620 at a more respectable height though. The more I look at it the more I am thinking I need to reindex the front for another 1-2"

  17. Bob, you are doing some awesome work here and I loved looking over that MX520 build. The first time I ever saw something like this was Chad's 620, but I honestly didn't know anything about it till I joined Ratsun. I don't get to follow much racing/drifting so seeing these projects gives me hope that I could have a weekend warrior at some point :P With these threads I keep thinking that maybe I should try something like this with the B210, but it honestly scares me. Maybe I should just live through fellow Ratsuners till I can get more swap experience with suspension and motors.
  18. Projekt moar lowar! Looks good to me :P
  19. Projekt moar lowar 100% complete!

  20. Why do people have to borrow tools when they know you have plans for your own vehicles... Step dad disappeared with my wrenches so I can't crank my torsion bars.

  21. Projekt moar lowar 50% complete!

  22. Severely bored. Little over one hour till I get to go home, drink Jim Beam, and start sanding my hood. Week of freezer time for Devil's Cut should be good enough I hope.

  23. Jrock, send me a small metal pipe. Powder coat it black and draw a shroom cloud on the side with "BOOMSTICK" right over the address. Lets see if we can give the UPS guy a heart attack :P

  24. Yea, I figured it wasn't 4x4, but my mind does crazy things when I see big(ish) tires on an old Datsun. Must be because I really want to do a 4x4 build after seeing all the ones that have popped up recently. Hot pink 4x4 because not girlie man!
