Description

Looking for the adapter between the L20 distribitor and timing chain cover.  Don't know the year.  I am putting a L20B distribitor in a 1992 KA 2.4 motor.  I have the correct oil pump spindle, I am looking for the adapter that holds the distribitor in to the timing chain cover.

Hood Rivre, OR 97031 area

Thank you

Jim

Electronic distributor or points?

It is the point model with the electric kit installed.  It uses the oil spindle from a 1980 L20b motor.  The longer type with a cresent off set slot, not the small gear.

I am putting the L20B dist into a 1992 D21 KA 2.4 motor

Thanks

Jim

Any L20B, L16 or L18 pedestal should work. There are various basses and some point the rotor in odd directions but by repositioning the spindle that can be corrected to bring the timing adjustment in range.  Also the L 16, L 18, L20B, L24, L26 and L28 spindles are all the same also including the 810/Maxima

Crashtd420: Thanks for your reply.  Hoping you have the pedestal that has about a 45 degree position between the arm and two bolt holes.

Thanks

They all will work but putting an L20B into an earlier L16 (may place the L20B rotor at an angle that doesn't time under one of the wires on the cap. Then you would have to reposition the spindle.

datzenmike: Thanks for the photo info.  I am putting the L20B dizzy in a '92 KA 2.4 motor.  I have the oil pump drive spindle that you suggested for a L20B and I am not using the EFI manifold.  I have made a merge collector and plan on using some SU carbs.  I had to remove the fan clutch in order to shorten the motor so it may fit into the engine bay.  Then the motor will go into a '58 MG ZB Magnette.

Thank you
