  2. I opted out of swapping the diff after much wise input from you all, thank you. I can always make vroomy sounds and lower the truck if I want to pretend like I’m fast.
  3. Couldn’t get the damn thing out rusty stripped screw heads and no drill practically hulked the roof off trying anyway! Same with the sun visor mounts.
  4. You know I went back today and I stared a long time at the y connectors while I was under there thinking about taking them but in the end I didn’t…for some reason. Had just finished a really good workout removing the bumperette brackets. Forgot about the adjusters though…probably worth going back for that stuff you’re right. Someone else had been there since my first visit but they only took one of the fender emblems. They only ended up with a “Datsun130” though because the last 0 was broken off in the fender still.
  5. Well anyway it seems like I’m the only psychopath who has considered to move from 4.375 -> 4.875 Would I notice or not really? This under the guise of “acceleration” and considering I do not drive over 45 mph.

  8. Mmm it’s a Franken 69 in VIN plate and title only. Someone gave it a 69 cab, rest is a PL of some nature.
  9. Holy shit a 520 in the junkyard. Got the dash (including PRISTINE glove box insert wow!) and chrome door pulls, also the washer bag bracket (score!) Would it be utter madness to take the third member so I can have fun at stoplights? What else would work in my 521?
  10. Ah I see. So cylinder 2 is maybe a little less hot? Glad to hear that! I did the rough little ring test with a ring square in the bore a couple depths and the taper seemed alright though the gap was pretty large. Im gonna take it all in to get checked for any imminent disasters, but seems fortunately not as intensive as it coulda been. Thanks for the analysis, appreciate it!
  11. Figured it coulda looked worse, but I sure don’t know. Bores could use a hone or more, look like a bad mirror finish but no other marks either. Some rod bearings worn down thru to the copper. Also some weird green discoloration on the rod there not sure what that’s about. Looks like we got ourselves a good old F big 3 little 4 piston. I suppose that means they are standard size? Thrust bearing there looking ready to be replaced, I assume? Heading to the shop to get it checked out for real, will see how to proceed from there.
