iceman510
Stock L20B flywheel in cars was 200mm, 225 in trucks. You can probably use either. The clutch bearing collar will depend on the height of the pressure plate diaphragm. motor mounts- I don't know if truck mounting is different in the 521, but your comment should be correct. Other comments look correct. 1 Quote Link to comment

There were several 225mm PPs, the collar for one won't match the other. Select a clutch from a specific use truck or car and get the collar for it. The one linked is for an '80 A10 HL510 and will be for a 200mm PP. The original L16 motor mounts. Yes the rubber isolators and the two engine brackets Quote Link to comment

Socalman
so the 225mm refers to the flywheel, not the clutch? but the pressure plate size has to match the flywheel, not clutch size? Quote Link to comment
Socalman
Basically, I just need these 2 items to be good with matting to trans? https://fidanza.com/fidanza-77-79-200sx-l20-b-aluminium-flywheel-143121/ https://www.evasivemotorsports.com/store/product/action-clutch-stage-2-1ks-kevlar-sprung-w-hd-press-platebearing-nissan-200sx-20l-l20bz20e-77-81/?srsltid=AfmBOoqeY7jyxwmqSkBguFxHcsTDc6jrqDYz8Vh550i8jmi1ho9cE__AFCU Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
OK if you get that Fidanza flywheel thats 200mm then use the 510/521 t/O bearing and sleeve and use this clutch kit .this is a Roadster replacement lkit (600KG) it will use same as L16 510 and 521 stuff .I personally keep the 510/521 trans thowout arm to the slave cylinder as I like the adjustment better .Exedy kit come with a 200mm T/O bearing but NO SLEEVE!!!!!!! That $400kit looks cool but yu dont want to drive around with that strong of a clutch. I bought a SPEC 2 for my 521 but the clutch ripped the center disc up and left me stranded. I went to the weak stock 350KG 521 kit and its fine for stock type daily driver https://www.ebay.com/itm/233202857988?fits=Make%3ADatsun&itmmeta=01HSKYF5733MNRRKTH7PJMWETW&hash=item364bf93804:g:~JkAAOSwIetk9Q1Y&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0OfrPf%2BVBYMIJ92RMXxqWDOtq3CDvfIDaYmM6rMJ%2FAYXVjqQ3c%2BZkGFvs4XSUxs1UmHHG8Dt4G5dixFK5RjVNGg2xGgti3B%2FRCDRGMoPuXhm4NmuMPhN1fw6OSMQ5%2B3GTgt853jfD9O5OxKWJFw6DkOyaDb8MM4Dn6XnjQTBLDKK1JWhX936J%2F5mJrTpnIpx%2FO%2B4WFzKP5sxx5ttyzB0HO1Ze7joOpfgKFX7ebFWPJfUjxyuiiJ2JM10q3VVkOwqVO43rCfEypmnHNLuEGdXRuw%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9bTvP7MYw 400$ for a flywheel is a bit much. So basically, youre saying if I use that flywheel I posted, I can use all my existing clutch components from the 521?? Quote Link to comment
Socalman
also 4 wheel disk brakes, you would be surprised on the weight difference I felt during the swap, I believe my calipers are aluminum. it all adds up. Quote Link to comment
Socalman
I’m already running a stage 2 clutch…it’s this one. That would be sweet if all I need is the flywheel, I’m already running the same fidanza but it’s 5 bolt. https://www.mvpmotorsports.com/spec-clutch/spec-clutch-kit-stage-2-plus/sn203h Quote Link to comment

Yes your Fidanza 77-79 200sx is the same flywheel just aluminum all other stuff from your stock L16 will work with this kit. I will be honest. I didnt think putting a alum flywheels was all that its crackd up to be. Lucky I got a used one Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
well just swap the flywheel as you got everything else I guess L16 is 5 bolt L20 is 6 bolt otherwise its the same those pressure plates(spec2) are strong but I had a stage 1 and it sheard my disc. So I wount buy another. the fingers worn in also I stay with exedy myself. Edited March 22 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment

I like the feel of the aluminum, it revs up faster and if going downhill and off throttle it saves braking to slow down, revs down faster. One downside I don’t like is, sucks going from a stop on a hill. Lol. Hopefully it’s better with the L20b Edited March 22 by Socalman 1 Quote Link to comment

Socalman
I get that the check valve for oil filter is to bypass filter when dirty or high pressure. Reason is dirty oil is better than no oil. I don’t know why and maybe someone does is the benefit if any for plugging it up??? Quote Link to comment
chukar
I bought a L20B and rebuilt it that also had the oil filter bypass plugged. I assumed it was done to help with cleaning out the oil passages. From what I remember the bypass is not needed because most oil filters have a built in bypass. An OEM Nissan filter may be the exception. I would make sure that whatever oil filter you get has the built in bypass. I'm still learning so hopefully someone can correct me if I am wrong. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Right, most filters now days have a built in bypass. Quote Link to comment
