I got it in a trade essentially. Yea, I was trying to buy one on eBay too. Glad I didn’t cause the quality isn’t very good. Quote Link to comment
six2ohyea
Dropped the new stock wheels at the powder coaters. Hope it’s the last set of wheels. 😅 on my 3rd set. 3 Quote Link to comment

It’s a brand new steering wheel and a ton of cosmetic defects. I don’t even think the wheel is leather. Maybe I’m just nitpicking but if I’m going to spend $400+ on a steering wheel I would want it to be in great condition. 1 hour ago, DARIN 510 said: Oh nice! Love these guys. six2ohyea
Got some replacement door weather stripping. Does it usually have so much extra rubber? Quote Link to comment
EDM620
There should be excess material so you can trim to fit. Don't stretch the rubber, it will shring some as it ages. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Yes, it will shrink. Did you use any lube to get it installed? If not, you might have to wiggle it around to make it fit better. I wouldn't trim it until you know for sure that it isn't hanging up in one spot. 1 Quote Link to comment

It went in pretty smoothly (on the driver side at least) do I tack this weatherstrip down with adhesive? Quote Link to comment

There is such a thing as weatherstrip adhesive. 1 Quote Link to comment
six2ohyea
Front and rear window install in process. One thing I didn’t want to try on my own. 😅 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Installing glass with a rope is not the easiest thing on earth. I'd rather dig a hole and fill it up all day than install window glass. 2 Quote Link to comment
six2ohyea
Final touches to the headliner. Just need a black rear view mirror Edited August 12, 2023 by six2ohyea 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Go to wrecking yard and get one of those glue onto the windshield ones in black. Some have courtesy or map reading lights or use it instead of the interior light. They also have that high beam dimmer that reduces the reflection. 2 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I have never successfully installed one of those glue on mirror tabs. They always come off eventually. Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
No, don't buy new parts, find a locksmith instead. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
I can say this now because it doesn't matter. Years ago on another Datsun I no longer have I took the ignition cylinder apart and took the tumblers out. Any key will start it even a Popsicle stick. No one would ever guess this. Stoffregen Motorsports
Yes, they can usually make one without having one. I watched the locksmith make a new key for my rear window switch on my Cherokee last year. He dumped a 2 gallon bucket of keys onto his workbench, then fished around until he found one that fit, then proceeded to whittle away at it until it worked, which he then used to make a new key. Took no more than 20 minutes. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Was in the wrecking yard years ago and there was a large ring with dozens and dozens of keys on it. No key? just sit down and go through the lot. 1 Quote Link to comment
