MGTS
I'm not finding any plug-n-play, bolt-on hitches for, well, any 720. I would like a 2 inch receiver (class 3). Does anyone know of a hitch I can buy or is this a custom fab job? Will a D21 hitch work? Quote Link to comment
weldingrod
I just boxed in my bumper and welded one in. Any competent welder should be able to do the same for you. Quote Link to comment
720_Jeff
U-Haul will make them, built to order, 6-8 weeks @249.95 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Where I am they are bolt on.... hard to fuck that up. If welded, it has to be by a shop that is certified. No bird shit welds allowed. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
You could always buy a generic receiver hitch setup and modify it to fit. A full size truck system will be wide enough to cut down to size and are also usually built out of stronger (bigger) tubing than the mini truck systems. Better yet, you could grab a used one from a wrecking yard and modify it to fit. 1 Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
Yep. Mine is off a mid 80s S10 I had to drill a couple of holes. Been on there 30 years. Maybe be hard to find a mid 80s S10 these days. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
More than a few times, I have cut the ends off of a standard receiver hitch and welded it to the frame. No bolts required. Here are a couple pics of the receiver hitch I welded into my Datsun 320 frame. Edited August 23, 2022 by Stoffregen Motorsports Quote Link to comment
jagman
Two years ago I bought a hitch for the s-10 and mounted it on my 720. I made two shims for each side and bolted it up. Not sure I had to drill the frame. 1 Quote Link to comment
