the510keeper
Trunk floor and left rear lower quarter next, Chris made me a flat replacement panel for the spare tire well. with the meatball patch rolled in it. Anthony Kerley flew down from Portland area to help out and get some auto body experience. He made massive progress on this little beast. We cut the top of a fucked 620 tailgate to use as a support brace under the filler panel. Quote Link to comment
the510keeper
Kerleybird just busted ass on this little Blue Pill, welded in the spare tire delete plate. on with a template and panel for the right floor area of the trunk. Then rear left lower quarter panel rot replacement. these areas were ripped so welded them back together at the same time A little on the shy side of this being complete, so, Anthony made a template and bents some clean metal and bam done Edited January 12, 2022 by the510keeper 1 Quote Link to comment

the510keeper
Removed the rear coilover off the Tanbird figured they would make this thing sit pretty. Gauge cluster 101 hope it works, this car had more broken windows when i got it then good windows So a bit of water has, probably, corroded shit. Now time for cleaning Soaked in vinegar Now to let dry, replace light bulbs and reassemble and install. (waiting on the dash pad to be reupholstered) 4 Quote Link to comment
the510keeper
Time for man made patina.... Start with 600gt DA dry paper, then 400gt, then 320gt, and ended with 240gt. This industrial enamel is hard as a rock. Then hit the complete area with lacquer thinner and red scotch bright. Then wipe with a clean rag and lacquer thinner. I think i can live with this after a day of trial and error looks good its taking shape Sweet now time to assemble this sexy bitch Clean as fuck tail lights, with new rubbers I took these apart to clear the rear housings. the clear coat help keep the plastic from becoming more brittle. and these housings are cherry. Been sitting around forever. On to running lights, shit show to find good part in a box of old parts. also used some new rubbers from a generic set off ebay Brand new pillar vents from my boy Hector, thanks Homie Ass parts, and trunk rubber installed Rear coilovers check Registered and plated ready to drive after 25 years of sitting in a field 1 Quote Link to comment
the510keeper
Needed to be able to lock this one up. My buddy Ron bought a lock kit on ebay, and said to fit a 510. However ended up being 2 sets of door locks. Thanks for the extra set. Little modifying and now shit works great, also a lot of Lube. "Hey Babe I got this" Keeping rocker trim, found some old and new parts in my stash to remount the trim and make solid again, good times. Someone needs to repop the end pieces One more step closer 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
James, weren't the early ones chromed pot metal attached with screws while later ones were chromed plastic and held on with nuts like fender emblems???? Quote Link to comment
iceman510
Mike, not sure if you are talking about the C-pillar vents or the rocker trim. For the vents, your material comments are correct, but early had studs with 6mm nuts (no externally visible fasteners), while the later plastic versions had screws into plastic nuts in the pillar. I have two sets of the late plastic versions, but totally peeling chrome with a bad repaint attempt over them. Edited February 11, 2022 by iceman510 clarification Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes, C3... the 'sail panel'? So the other way around early metal and late plastic with screws. I have some info on them but it does not mention the plastic ones with screws. Quote Link to comment
