Trunk floor and left rear lower quarter next, Chris made me a flat replacement panel for the spare tire well. with the meatball patch rolled in it.

Anthony Kerley flew down from Portland area to help out and get some auto body experience. He made massive progress on this little beast.

We cut the top of a fucked 620 tailgate to use as  a support brace under the filler panel.

Kerleybird just busted ass on this little Blue Pill, welded in the spare tire delete plate. on with a template and panel for the right floor area of the trunk. Then rear left lower quarter panel rot replacement.

Just to clarify this is not 100% build, matched the paint and cleaned up. Datsunville does not have a year to do a blasted bear metal restoration. Looks amazing but not concourse

Time for man made patina....

Start with 600gt DA dry paper, then 400gt, then 320gt, and ended with 240gt. This industrial enamel is hard as a rock. Then hit the complete area with lacquer thinner and red scotch bright. Then wipe with a clean rag and lacquer thinner.

I think i can live with this after a day of trial and error looks good

Needed to be able to lock this one up. My buddy Ron bought a lock kit on ebay, and said to fit a 510. However ended up being 2 sets of door locks. Thanks for the extra set.

Little modifying and now shit works great, also a lot of Lube. "Hey Babe I got this"

 20220209_145525_resized.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds

Keeping rocker trim, found some old and new parts in my stash to remount the trim and make solid again, good times. Someone needs to repop the end pieces

Mike, not sure if you are talking about the C-pillar vents or the rocker trim.

For the vents, your material comments are correct, but early had studs with 6mm nuts (no externally visible fasteners), while the later plastic versions had screws into plastic nuts in the pillar.

I have two sets of the late plastic versions, but totally peeling chrome with a bad repaint attempt over them.
