Nice work, good to see you have a complete running Datto again

Still working out the kinks but its doing very well so far.

Been super nice this weekend so I finally got some time to make some -10AN lines for the oil cooler.

Iv been doing a lot of stuff to try and bullet proof the things that have all left us stranded at one time or another because of some dumb failure lol

Project is looking awesome.  How was tuning the MS? Do you know a guy? Love the hood.

Once I had all the settings correct tuning has been pretty easy.

Iv got input from other MS guys but tuning wise Iv been doing it all myself.

Im still waiting on a dyno day to have someone better than me smooth out as much as possible,

but its been running and driving good, Iv put about 300 miles on it so far.

Finally got to the dash. Pulled the harness and made a bunch of repairs and added the plugs for the new gauges ect.

This dash was not just cracked but so warped the cap wouldn't ever come close to fit.

I had to take the fap disk to the pad and use every clamp in the shop lol

3D printed some adapters for the speed hut gauges.

I thought only the ET automatics with oil coolers had them. Is that an early turbo engine? they were all automatics.

They all had the oil pump, but just the autos had the cooler.
That oil pressure is with a large oil cooler with -10AN lines too.

Its an 82/83 with T5 or, was anyway lol nothing left of what's specific for those but the trans really.

Finally got some door panels for this car.

Spent way to long getting the door window actuator and locks dialed in.

Adjusting door glass is a pain lol but finally have a complete interior so it feels so much less like driving around in a project.

All those black screws, the missing chrome from the wood strip, the missing arm rest screw cover... Or is it something else?  😁

lol yes, but also no.

Clips in 50 year old carboard is nonsense lol so I went with M6 button heads.

And Im 3d printing some screw covers for the arm rest.

Something less obvious is there lol

Or is it just that this is a 280Z door panel on a 240Z?

lol pretty close... it is in fact not 240Z door panel at all.... because its got 260z doors on it 😂

Fun facts, there are physical door differences between the series one 240z, 72-73, 74-76, 77-78

They just couldn't stop fucking with them apparently lol

You know how most automakers are, especially on higher end models. If you can't change the whole car every few years, you need to change all the stuff on it to keep it "fresh". These days it is unfathomable to see a car company keep making the same car for 10 years without a complete overhaul.

Well, except Nissan. They made the 370Z for 11 years. And the R35 Skyline for 14 years (and still counting). And the D40 Frontier for 18 years.

Geez those guys hold onto a car forever...  😄
