five1oh Posted August 10, 2022 Author Report Share Posted August 10, 2022 I got to see the car again when I dropped off the bumpers Monday. Man oh man is it getting close. I am ecstatic the level of work Darin is doing. Passenger side paint correction is now complete. I believe we are down to the last few items before I can drive the car home: - paint correction top of car (hood, roof, trunk) - paint the drivers rear corner where it was hit - paint the roll pan under bumper due to prior damage and surface rust - chrome paint pen interior trim (radio surround, glove box trim, datsun emblem etc) - install interior (should be back next week) - paint and install air cleaner - put new reg stickers on - install new bumpers - install hubcaps....but not sure if I want to change tires to whitewalls first or not... His car has a deluxe style hubcap I believe. The green car is one I found online years ago and my car has the same style hubcap. My current 69 does not have as tall of a sidewall but tires are new. five1oh Posted August 15, 2022 Author Report Share Posted August 15, 2022 Front bumper done. As with any repops the Futofab bumpers need quite a bit of tweaking to make fit correctly. Way better than the bent up ones but eventually I will straighten and rechrome the stock ones. Darin also straightened my plate some more. Front end is looking amazing! Notice the difference on the bottom half by the mounting holes, the correct one is installed on the door. Technically the first sticker this plate would have worn would be 1970 but decided to put 69 on first.
