five1oh Posted July 20, 2020 Author Report Share Posted July 20, 2020 Engine in 🙂 So I am NOT going to install the factory exhaust manifold back on the car because this car still had working smog pump and I really don't want to deal with that and I also don't want to modify the stock exhaust so thankfully I got an exhaust from the motor I bought from Red where the manifold was already modified with the smog tubes closed off. Unfortunately it appears to be a tight fit so need to figure out how I am going to get it over the mounting studs without ruining the threads. I think this is the second time I've washed it since purchasing 18 months ago. Looking forward to driving it soon. I went up to Fitted two weeks ago to pick up the car as I decided I didn't want to pay a ton of money to have them finish the work. Darin agreed to swap the head gasket for me so I can continue on with the stock OG build. I just really want to be able to start driving the car. Here is a video I took the day I picked it up. He just had time to work on it so the motor got torn down and he started fixing some minor things. Thanks man!!!! Head was within spec and pistons and walls looked good. No warping. Can't wait to get this car back. Cleaned it all out and then also cleaned my wiper motor and replaced sprayer lines with clear.
