five1oh
Before I reinstalled the tank I cleaned up the trunk under where the tank mounts. The fuel filler didn't come with directions and it was pretty straightforward although I didn't think it through and had to take it in and out a few times because I forgot to tighten fittings, etc. Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr 5 Quote Link to comment
five1oh
After getting the tank installed I put a gallon in and drove to the gas station. Then I filled it half way and used this Redline fuel system cleaner. I still have some backfiring in the carb but it's better. Will likely need to make adjustments but first I realized I ruined my fuel sending unit (gauge not working) during the cleaning process as my fuel gauge is no longer working. Plan is to run the car out of gas and then put a gallon in and drive home. Then I can jack the car up in the rear and replace the sending unit (already bought a new one). damon
What does the filler look like with the cap off? Just curious, thanks Quote Link to comment
SupDoc
Spotted on Main Street in Rio Vista yesterday morning. You must have been eating breakfast at the Striper Cafe! It took me a little while to remember where I had seen this car before.😆 3 Quote Link to comment

five1oh
My bad everyone......It has been a LOOONG time and I never updated on a bunch of stuff. So cool to see that picture. I actually "gave" the car to my dad to use since they only had one car. In return it stays in a garage and is regularly driven and maintained freeing up space at my house for more cars 😂 He lives in Rio Vista which is why it was found there lol. five1oh
I really should update this thread.....a TON has been done since. It is no longer stock lol. After 3 years driving after a bone stock sympathetic mechanical resto (no paint or rubber), I have now gone off the deep end. Goal was to not go too crazy in case some crazy future owner wanted the ugly stock look. The only non-reversible mod to date is rolling the pristine fenders...whoops.
