  6. Well the car officially sold last week AND I received the funds this week. Car is going to stay local to me which is cool and the new owner is picking up the car on Saturday. This has truly been a special car and thanks to all of you for following and commenting along the way. Excited to continue my build threads for my Skyline and 69 510 and 1800sss coupe. I am happy with the result knowing I have a couple other 510s to build and enjoy. SHAKOTN sale by five1oh2010, on Flickr

  9. Alright the car has been sandblasted!!!!! As expected more rust and issues were found but now Mauricio has developed a gameplan and I am on a mission to order some more replacement sheet metal. What can't be sourced will be made from scratch. my rear wheel tubs and floor were terrible.......along with all the other issues LOL. The next updates will start to be cut out, fab, and replace. Looking forward to making progress finally. 10. question.....you mention zx front struts.....are you running stock 510 brakes and have no issues?? I have 13x7 libras for my 69 but didn't think I could bring it in with zx struts because the wheels are 13, not 14. Please confirm. THanks,!!
  11. .....now you just need to lower it..... Love it Ray! Looks like you will take home TWO trophies at this year's JCCS... 🙂
  12. Ready to BLAST!!!!!!! Again.... Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr

  14. Finally!!!!!!!!!!! An UPDATE!!!!! Car has begun to get torn down again 😞 although now it is on a rotisserie and will be built back amazing. It's going to be a long journey but CAN'T WAIT!!! Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr First step was getting the rest of the pieces off the shell to prep for sandblasting: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
  15. pic dump??????? cmon man......a pic dump should include no less than 10 pictures....you're killing me.
  16. This is AMAZING!!! Now I have a new goal! take my bone stock 1969 831 white 510 to that exact location!!! The only thing that won't match is the suicide 68 wipers on that car...which is weird because it has a 68 grill with a 69 D emblem.....hmmm Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Looks like I need to get to work since I am driving down for JCCS...
  17. YESSS!!!! we need more hako builds on here. Please post up!!!
  18. Took the 510 up to Napa this past weekend with the kids. They had so much fun. Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
  19. So now we are current. Last week Naveed shot pics for my Bring A Trailer ad........ I can't believe I am going to sell this car..... but it is necessary if I want to finish my skyline. Follow along. Once its listed I will let you know. I have had such an amazing time with this car with numerous miles and memorable trips. It is definitely bittersweet and by far the nicest 510 I have every built or owned. 20. Driving it home was amazing! Super happy with Eric and the crew from Fitted Garage. Thanks guys!! Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
  21. Thankfully I had a fully build LZ22 that I picked up that I was planning to put in the coupe. Because I need to sell this car I decided it was the cheapest and quickest option to put it in the car. Red spent about $6k in parts alone building it and it only has less than 5k miles. Eric came down and picked the motor up from my house and swapped it into the car with all the nicest parts including my L20b front cover, intake, carbs, etc. etc. Specs on the motor are as follows: Z22e bottom end(pistons, rods, crank) New pistons(z22e stock diameter 88.5) New bearings New rings Nismo headgasket Arp head studs W53 head: — Complete rebuild of the head done at TEM in napa(new valve guides, lash pads, valves, valve springs and retainers, 3 angle valve job, and cam alignment) stock cam(u20) New l20b timing chains and guides New ka24e oil pump L16(510) oil pan L20b front timing cover Matchbox distributor Mikuni phh44's rebuilt and tuned by Josel Cobangbang New L20b clutch kit exedy Bottom end is a 100% factory rebuild to z22e specs. Before putting it in they ran the compression check. So good!!! Cylinder 1: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Cylinder 2: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Cylinder 3: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Cylinder 4: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Video of it running (click) Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
  22. Then they did shift boot and then when they sent me pics of compression test things went sideways.... Cylinder 1: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Cylinder 2: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Cylinder 3: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Cylinder 4: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr So they figured it was head gasket so we tore the motor down to the block and they ended up finding scoring on the cylinder walls and other issues. The car ran perfectly for so long and never overheated OR used water or oil. It was the stongest motor I have ever had. I was super bummed 😞 Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Motor out: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
  23. Next up they got all the gauges and gauge lights working 🙂 as well as matched the speedo garnish to the tach 🙂 Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
  24. First thing they did was put it in the air and send me some nice pics. They also fixed the speedo leak 🙂 So far so good: Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr Untitled by five1oh2010, on Flickr
