datzenmike
I love it! I had a '71 521 back in the '70s and it was so basic. Even the choke was manual. It was a tractor with a tin can body on it. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Them trucks were so high off the ground stock. It appears to be a late 66 as it doesn't appear to have the engine crank hole in the bumper, and it has the grill badge. Every time I look at mine from a distance I think the windshield is too high, mine needs a shorter windshield in my opinion. 1 Quote Link to comment
zed1
Also, the oil filter is the later model, not the cartridge style. 1 Quote Link to comment
difrangia
That's a beautiful old survivor and awesome base for a project. Looks, from the pics, that it may have been originally black in color? Kind of an uncommon color for an early Datsun; they were trying to get noticed in their quest to break into the world market so there were lots of bright colors. The windshield does look tall in the first pic. I'm kinda partial to big/tall greenhouses on vehicles. The new Camaros look like the car crusher crapped out half way through a crush cycle. Gangsta Tops !! You will find lots of good information on Ratsun. Lots of good knowledgeable Datsun nuts here and some hard to find parts sources. Welcome. 2 Quote Link to comment
