    Red's 520

Consider having your old mount Re-Vulcanized. Then & Now (http://www.then-now-auto.com/) have assisted several Datsun/Nissan owners with their projects. Keith

damen_red, Please post a photo of your old transmission mount, I want to see exactly what part you need. Thanks, Keith

I have many Takata seat belt components from 1960-1970 Datsun vehicles. Parts include complete buckles, floor or pillar mounting brackets and red and black belt strappings. There are several lengths including lap and shoulder belts. I have no retracting mechanism. Some of the belt strapping does not have the labels. Please PM me for additional information. Thanks, Keith

  5. Give Joyce at Newark Auto Products a call http://newark-auto.com/replacement-carpets/ See http://newark-auto.com/img/2016 Carpet Application Guide.pdf I spoke to her several years ago about the Datsun 520 carpet kit. Keith
  6. Welcome the the Datsun Standard Thread Owner's Club. There's a lot of knowledge on this Forum... Some hints: Search then ask questions Post photos, pictures speak a thousand words Share solutions that work and that don't work...we all learn from others experiences. Keith
  7. I recently acquired two boxes of 1960s - 1980s Datsun/Nissan brochures and dealer press photos. This collection appears to have been amassed by a hobbyist who attended auto shows and contacted Datsun/Nissan via an letter writing campaign. (As an aside, he reached out to many manufacturers during this time period and liquidated 50-60 banker boxes of brochures.) The collection includes many vehicles that were not sold in the US, which leads me to believe the enthusiast was living in outside the US. It would take a long time to scan every press photo and the front page of every brochure. So, my question to the Forum member is this: Do you think a listing of the vehicles pictures and the written caption in addition to the brochure date and publication number would generate interest in a potential buyer? (I then could email a photo of the press photo or brochure to supplement the listing.) Thanks for any input you can provide. Keith

    Cup holder for a 520

Charlie, As a reminder, the early 520's have the shifter rod hole located closer to the firewall to accommodate the early transmission design. The distance between the heater box and the shifter boot is 9.5". Since the later transmission design moved the shifter boot closer to the seat, the previously referenced distance is greater. Thanks to you and Garret for your assistance on this project. Keith

  14. It is interesting that the Nissan J Series Engines has commonality to the BMC (British Motor Corporation) B- Series engines. BMC, along with other manufacturers, supported the rebuild of the Japanese auto industry by sharing design and technology. A good summary of the history of the BMC B- Series engines can be found at https://web.archive.org/web/20070311055719if_/http://www.austin-rover.co.uk:80/index.htm?enginebseriesf.htm. Personally, I have had to use several BMC B- Series engine parts to rebuild my J13. Please add your knowledge/experience of the BMC B- Series engines to this thread. We must not let the J series engine become extinct!!! Keith
  15. I just uncovered the owner's manual for a 1971 510 with a warranty card issued to Patrick G. Seymour, Jr. of Snohomish, WA. Does anyone know if Patrick is still an active Datsun owner? Thanks, Keith

    J13 gasket kit

Grindstaff (https://www.grindstaffengines.com) bought out Motorpower (http://motorpower.net/pricing/j15.html) and may have the gasket set you need. Keith
  18. Some BMC B-Series engine parts interchange. A good resource is Kip Motors http://www.king-cart.com/kipmotor/category=Metropolitan+Engine+Cylinder+Head&cart_id=12218.5465&exchange=&exact_match=exact Keith
  19. Per 60Patrol forum" "MotorPower Inc is no longer operating and has been bought by Grindstaff Engines. The MotorPower website is still up but they do not have control of it, the owner died last year and they bought the business but cannot gain control of the website. Just spoke with Rick Grindstaff and he has some of the info on the PPU engine parts but they do not show on his site. I have also been looking at Tiffen Parts. Looks like both are about the same price. Tiffen gives the actual Nissan Part numbers and the Motor Power site shows a made up internal part number." Keith

    1968 520

The bed of early 520s do not have the provision of side or rear reflectors. Also, the bed wheel housing was redesigned to accommodate the fuel tank evaporator plumbing.

  23. The original fuel pump heat shield had a woven (possible asbestos) insulator attached to the outside of the pump: I have fabricated a replacement shield: Does anyone have a recommendation as to what material can be used as a "modern day" insulator?

    New 320 owner, 62?

Foam back headliner is available in both 1/16” and 1/8”....verify with the vendor which they are offering. Also, it is possible to have non-perforated vinyl by upholsterers who perf leather for custom seats.
