sebpv
dealer what? Quote Link to comment
sebpv
I had tried in the past. Sure enough Nissan seems to carry the hose again...unless the part number is for the wrong engine http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-hose~11828-r6800.html Quote Link to comment
sebpv
Update: discontinued... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Each end is a different diameter. Block vent tube is much larger than the PCV end. Quote Link to comment
sebpv
ya I noticed on the picture. I was hoping the material could stretch out enough or thin out the wall thickness Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Wall thickness isn't the problem two different size pipes fit in the ends. That one looked closest to an L20B hose the L16/18 is curled. Quote Link to comment
sebpv
you sure? This part definitely looks like a L16. It has 2 bends close together. And the whole thing looks relatively small compared to a L20B hose which is like a foot long on the straight side Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The L16/18 looks like a piece of coil spring, the L20B is straight with a 90 curve at the PCV end. (very general description they are nothing alike) 1 Quote Link to comment
sebpv
you are accurately describing each hose but I fail to see how the listed hose looks like the l20b type... Im only focusing on the ends really. They each face the proper plan or axis and the hose is small. I suppose the ends can be shortened if they dont align Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
L20B (90 degree bend with a slight curve at the PCV half). L16/18 (looks like a cut off piece of coil spring) Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Another picture of a L-16 PCV hose. 1 Quote Link to comment
racerx
Also notice that both ends are not the same size. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I had a car show up with a piece of garden hose on the PCV end and the other stuffed into the wide part of the original. I got rid of it but that might work or two different sizes of heater hose? Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Gates makes hose adapters that go from one size to another. Perhaps one of those could be of use? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not like it's under pressure or vacuum. Warm oil/fuel vapors flow through it, so must be petroleum resistant. Quote Link to comment
sebpv
I could use a garden hose I guess. Paint it so it blends in...Was it bent into a small radius like the pictured hose? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It was the semi clear green with the woven mesh in it. The curve is too tight and had a slight kink in it too. Quote Link to comment
sebpv
damn...Well i just remembered i bought malleable rubber for this very purpose. But I have have months before trying such Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Has to be petroleum resistant or it will just dissolve. Garden hose probably won't last. Heat resistant probably a good idea also. Quote Link to comment
