Owhatomar
Where can I find head bolts for a 1975 datsun b210 they have a 13 on the top and can't find them anywhere? Please help Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The '75 B-210 (and later 210 B-310) A14 and A15 use the same cylinder head bolts. 11057-H5700 Qty. 1 11056-N2301 Qty. 9 Old bolts, if clean and undamaged, are totally re-usable. These are not use one time and throw away 'torque to yield' bolts used today. Try the Nissan dealer. About $2 each. Quote Link to comment
Owhatomar
I looked for these online 11056-N2301 but nothing came up.. my Mechanic said I might need new ones... I'm new to this how do you post pics up? Maybe I can post pics for you to see if I need new ones or not? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If damaged yes, otherwise they are totally reusable. Mechanics love to spend your money for new things so they don't have to get their hands dirty. Tell him to clean threads thoroughly and wipe with an oily rag. 1 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Tap and Die sets are way less expensive than new sets of head bolts! Original head bolt sets are the best, once you get the inevetable crud out of the thread head and root valleys. A little non-seize compound would be a bonus on reassembly. Don't forget to re-torque about 2 weeks later. 1 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
If you can clean and reuse the origanal head bolts, you are spared the agony of deciding whether your replacement bolts are Japanese, German, or "Other" manufacture, Why? Well aside from forged "proof" marks as Grade * but just crap bolts with with "Grade 8" forged 6 punch marks on the head, you have the question of the contour on the crest and root of the actual thread. They can be any combination of flat top and bottom threas roots, rounded top and bottom thread roots, and sharp 60 degree pointed roots, Or God forbid, some bastard combination of root and crest tip contour! By the way, German DIN and Japanese metric threads are not identical. Quote Link to comment

Owhatomar
Do I need new ones? Quote Link to comment
Dguy210
Do I need new ones? No.Unless obviously damaged they can be reused many times. Just remember to get the placement correct as the "skinny" one must go back in the same spot for oil flow. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Generally NO, but i think he is wanting an answer on those exact head bolts,,,,,, Look at the corrosion and the thread loss at the tops of threads on numbers 4 and 8 from the top. And Number five looks pretty bad in two places.. Unless you guys are seeing something i'm not,,, there is obvious material loss there. Some of the others also look a bit pitted also.. . Doctor510
Use a thread chaser on bolts and block NOT A TAP Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Those threads are likely the top exposed ones and are not in the block. Screw them in and see. They are only a few bucks each if the dealer has them or pull some from another engine. Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
Looks like they were over torqued, and streched to me. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
They do look chewed up by corrosion, which makes them smaller in diameter. I'd listen to your mechanic and replace them. Honestly though, I'm amazed at how many times people ask where to get Nissan/Datsun parts. Try the dealer. 1 Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
Yeah, they all need washers, sometimes even two. If the head has ever been milled, the threads may bottom out in the block. I always run them in without washers to check the depth. If they clear without washers, I install them with the factory spec'd single washer. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Absolutely HAS to have a washer. The steel bolt will chew up the soft aluminum head. Quote Link to comment
Owhatomar
Awesome thanks again Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
To be specific, the OEM washers are hardened steel, so OEM washers, not hardware store flat washers, should be used. 2 Quote Link to comment
Owhatomar
Yes already ordered them thru the nissan dealer should be ready for pickup tomorrow it's crazy because the washers were 5 bucks a piece same as the bolts 2 Quote Link to comment
