Picked up this 610 from Ted (tdaaj) (that's him "securing" it to the dolly) recently. I say that because the strap popped off a mile down the road.fun... No motor or trans. Plan is to drop an L20 W/5spd and daily the sob. Words are boring, on with the pics...

Automatics..... are survivors. They are driven much differently than standards and will less abuse.

New to the 610 crowd. Some dropping of the knowledge would be nice. Is this a h190 rear end? 3.7 or 3.889? Build date 10/73

 

More pics. 2nd day. Had some pretty cool scenery while making a parts list. Sunset and rainbow... was actually double rainbow but camera wouldn't pick up. To faint.

I'm going back today to get the ac stuff... is there anything else I should grab? Is the center consol different for auto vs manual? Are those the stock turn signals butchered into the valance ? Or something else? I

Is this a h190 rear end? 3.7 or 3.889? Build date 10/73

Well unlike the 710 which all had H-165s in them the 610 used

 

H-165 3.889 through July '73.... manual and automatics.

 

H-190 3.889 Aug '73- Aug '74.... manuals

H-165 3.889 Aug '73- Aug '74.... automatics

 

H-190 3.700 Sept '74 on.... manuals and automatics.

 

Local wrecking yard has this...

Could be L20B engine but has been exposed to the weather with the carb off. It is a standard so get the pedals, master and slave and the 4 speed. and driveshaft. If you plan a 5 speed swap skip the 4 speed.

Rear red marker lights... that style only on the goons and easliy cracked and broken.

 

Does it have the tach or clock option? Good for trade or use.

 

Front windshield and rear glass?

 

Door handles break off so keep a spare.

 

Ignition key/lock, and the rear lift lock assy. Hell, get the whole door. Could be good to have if someone 'taps' you from behind......

I got the tail lights. And it's a L18. Ted supplied the clutch peddle assembly already. And I thought these had a long tail 4sp? Or am I wrong? Junk yard car has neither tach or clock. Just a blank. Mine has a clock. .

The 610 is unique in that it has a long 31.5" F4W63 four speed.

 

Here's a picture of a 610 4 speed from Canada. It was dealer purchased and still has the tag and correct part number on it.

No. Correct 73 turn signals are in the bumper. You will want that valance, however.

Seems like that center console might work awesome in 510s as well. Even if you don't need it, might make a good piece to sell.

went back for round 2 on monday after work.
