WAGON JON
I like the build so far. If you trim the rear for flares, use metal not plastic for the flares. Its so much more legit as opposed to plastic clamp-on's! 1 Quote Link to comment
russaroll
I like the build so far. If you trim the rear for flares, use metal not plastic for the flares. Its so much more legit as opposed to plastic clamp-on's! It will have steel flares. There is a guy in my area that does great metal work. He did the flares on my boss's 240z and they turned out great. Sadly, the money I have saved for flares will prolly get spent on other things I need to get the car running. Flares will have to wait. 2 Quote Link to comment
russaroll
doin' thangs. made this nifty cover. i don't know if i want to cut the spare tire tub out. does anybody know if there is a down side to cutting it out? moving on i'll be using the stock mounting location for my fuel cell. made these brackets. then plasti dipped them. WG is on, for good :) turbo is on and plumbed. also got one of those flex hoses for my rad. tomo i'll be running the fuel lines. good bye :) 1 Quote Link to comment

dukerollo
Damn man, throwing some tasty bits on this thing! The spare tire tub has a fair bit of strength to it, but being behind the rear subframe I don't think it is too important to the structure of the car overall. If you wanted to be safe, you could reinforce the plate that replaces the tub with some L angle or the like. I would prabaly just bead it though so it doesn't oil can. 1 Quote Link to comment
russaroll
been kind of busy doin stuff. i had the welder next door where i work weld up this little bend for the dwnpipe. someone cut a hole in my trunk. it's cool. i welded this cover over it. fpr is in. i know it looks close to the fender well but it's not. it's an illusion. there's enough room there for the hose and my fat fingers. i moved the brake reservoir over a little so i could screw in the o2 sensor. connected all the coolant hoses. i also found out my rad is too tall. i either need to get is chopped a couple inches and run two smaller fans or have a custom built rad. (angryface.jpg) bonus content: i've also been a bit busy trying to get these in the wagon. 2 Quote Link to comment
russaroll
found my thread on page 5. time for an update. this box came in. after having some fat trimmed of my rad, i had to get new fans. they are 10" made a thing for the fill neck. had a thing made. guy did a decent job so i asked him to make another. i welded the fitting and BOV flange. can you tell? :) BOV is on. i had the starter checked out. guy said it was good and didn't even charge me. sweet deal. so i put it back on. put it back on the ground and pushed it outside. hasn't seen sunshine in quite a while. blew out most of the dirt and leaves with an air hose then i took the vacuum to it. also decided to make another heat shield. that's all. 4 Quote Link to comment
