MikeRL411
There were 2 of these Vulcans at Omaha's Sarpey County Museum [a fenced off runway extension of Offut AFB] until the Falkland Islands War. Overnight the chain link fence went down, the Vulcans were towed, the fence went back up and the Vulcans were bombing the Falklands. 1 Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Better to be put to work than sitting around gathering dust. The advantage of storing and maintaining in flight restorable condition! These Vulcans were used by the RAF for crew training, bomb runs and general crew training tasks that were easily done in the American West, not the quiet English countryside. 1 Quote Link to comment
VFR800
If memory serves me there's now no such thing as a functional flight capable Arvro Vulcan. Sad. 1 Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
^ that picture reminds me... http://usa.newonnetflix.info/info/80133317/s This show is on netflix and it is pretty amazing. Don't want to give away the first two episodes as they are really good restorations, but I am on episode 3 and a guy is building a Focker tri-wing from scratch. It's the plane the Red Baron made famous in WWI and apparently you can buy plans from a guy to build your own. 1 Quote Link to comment
