Today, i picked up a 73 goon!!!!

I'm damn excited. It's a shell but I've got suspension on the old 510 that'll swap right on.

Exterior is decent. Interior can use some help but original seats in some good condition. my damn favorite!!!

I'm just waiting on a l20, a coil, maybe a xmember and then I'll be rolling!!

Yup, her name is Autumn.

Here's some pics.

There's no engine!

I'm gonna paint some things and what not. You'l all see soon enough.

and bare with me. they're in the dark.

I'll show more soon.

Is that a 73?

I thought 72 was the last year of that style ,or am I wrong, which would not be the first time.

Looks like a good start also.

It's a 72. just realized i wrote 73 in the beginning.

thanks man. It'll be aweose when it's done!

Nice score kid, good to see you back in the game!

I couldn't resist. This time, it'll be a build thread, not a newb asking questions.

Quick question, are l16's in wagons not common at all?

I found a cheap l16 for the swap but I cannot seem to find anything that some one has had one in there on a build.

They also build l20's but I feel like I"m never gonna be going that fast...

Get an l20b dude, you wont be hauling ass unless you modify it. If you throw in a 5spd you'll be good on the frwy

Wagons came with L16's just like the sedans. If you're going to put the time into a rebuild or even a quick swap you might as well go for an L18 or L20b. That's why you don't see them as often these days. Stock L16's are usually given away or scrapped unless it runs reeeeeally good.

I found a complete l16 for 200 so i figured it'd be a good buy.

my 510 isn't gonna be that fast even with an l20....

you should have 2.  i think they go where the front sway bar is so you can bolt up the belly pan.

here. these should help.

Interesting, I've never had a belly pan so i guess it's useless kinda.

So i put in a xmember. cleaned up it nicely and painted it black.

I can't seem to get the steering suspension on. it seems to slip on but i cannot seem to do it. lol.

I'll have wheels on it very soon hopefully.

Considering a 5 speed. Don't know if it's worth it and I can't seem to find one out of a 200sx for the direct bolt up.

Not looking to go through the extra trouble.

Not 100% sure.

I had just bid on them on ebay and happened to win.

I know they're for 510's and I'm assuming maybe 40?

This is like my dream build most definitely

What'd you buy? I'm not sure what size in inches work. i want as long as possible. haha.

gotta do more research.

anyways, teared down the interior and put some carpet almost.

Will be done this week probably. Also getting my suspension done asap..

I got the mesh screen filters because the sponge type wouldn't clear 2 of my side draft stacks by my power brake booster.

I'll definitely look at my options.

Thanks  Really excited about getting this build. A lot of progress coming
