paradime
Compost Busta Nut. I don't know what's harder for me to take, you getting 2 months in the French Alps, or doing that while you have a Coupe that needs attention just sitting in your driveway, Right Now. You seem so cool and unmolested by all this conflicting tension you've created here. All be it a double positive, I don't see how you can do it man. I'm falling apart just watching... almost 7,000 miles away I might add. PM me when you get back, I can't take this. Quote Link to comment

Mountain biking in the summer, snowboarding in the winter, and using interseason to travel. It's not been a bad couple of years, I did want to go to Canada for 12 months, but the girlfriend didn't get a visa so we've had to can that idea. Love to get over to the US, but its a nightmare trying to get a visa for me so sadly, we're settling back in England :( @Busta Nut yes, that is rusty. Mine isn't that bad. Just a little. The main areas are all on the passengers side rocker and rear 1/4 lower, inside the arches and floor seem solid. But on the grand scheme of things, for a car that's not been moved in 14 years, it's not too bad! Got to sell my SSR MK1 wheels, JDM front grill and what ever the other wheels with GoodYear polyglas tyres are on to buy a car/intake setup and pay for a custom exhaust. 2 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
WOW, I've been neglecting this thread more than I've been neglecting the Coupe! Time flies. In those 4 years, I've moved back to the UK, started a new job, purchased a house, totally renovated the house, built a small garage, brought the Coupe home. Brought a new Audi A1, sold the Audi A1, got a Mercedes Benz C300 Coupe, not sure if I like it much. I've also been back to France 6 times to either snowboard or mountain bike (lack of mountains in London) Been to Canada for the same, NYC, Singapore, Bali and a little Spanish Island off the coast of Africa. The love of traveling is probably the best excuse I can give to not doing much with the car. A couple of mile stones include getting the engine built. After a couple emails with Mori San at Kameari Engine Works to discuss my build, about a week later, this lot arrived in the post: P510 P510 P510 P510 Built up, the engine spec reads like this: OER45 Carb Kameari Engine Works L18 INLET MANIFOLD KIT #1017 Kameari Engine Works L18 high strength gasket set Nissan PITWORK gasket assembly paste Nissan PITWORK Oil filter ARP L4 Head Stud Bolt Kit Kameari Engine Works L18 Piston Kit (86mm) Nismo L4 WPC Bushing Main Set Nismo L4WPC Bushing Con Rod Set Kameari Engine Works L4 Lightweight Big Valves 36.5 (118mm) ARP CONROD BOLT Kameari Engine Works L4 Headgasket 1.0mm /86 Kameari Engine Works L4 Timing Chain Kameari Engine Works L4 TWIN IDLER GEAR (blue) New NISSAN L18 con rod Kameari Engine Works L4 Racing distributor with Spindle gear Kameari Engine Works Racing damper pulley kit New Nissan L6 water pump Kameari Engine Works Alternator pillow tension rod All nuts, bolts, washers, dowels etc new from Nissan Untitled by P510 More to come... 2 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
Hopefully the rest of the build will carry on along the same standards. I was going to buy an off the shelf header and exhaust from either Kameari, Refresh60 or Altair. But we voted to fuck up our economy last year and the pound tanked. Luckily, on our little secluded island, we're blessed with some amazing skilled workers. A good friend of mine, made this up for me: Shame it gets covered up with the 45s But a peek through the empty headlight bucket reveals the header Untitled All that lot is out the car and tucked away, the engine bay will be shaved, filled, painted and put back together at some point. The rear looks like this: Untitled Rusty. That crap will be cut out and replaced soon. Also playing around with some sticker ideas. Untitled 5 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
3 years later... What can I say. It's a lot closer to completion now but still a long way off. I'll find some pictures for those that are interested and haven't see the progress on instagram. 1 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
As cool as the car was (in my opinion anyway) I couldn't get past the rust. 1 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
Fast forward a few steps Undone a few bodges, cut out the crap and welded in a lot of new metal Removed the wheel well and mounted the fuel cell 3 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
A lot of body filler was removed. Originally white, then orange, then blue, then orange again... A little bit more filler was added 4 Quote Link to comment

It's a standard one and is on the list of jobs to do. I was looking for one that separated 2/3 exhaust ports but most seem to run this open. My engine builder is of the impression it'll be better. I'll need to find and ship something over. Quote Link to comment

Cars were never top priority in life and they've slipped even further down the line. Seeing it like this though has given me motivation to get it finished. Quote Link to comment

RandyWanger
Almost there now with the restoration work on the exterior. Just a few little things to do and button up. Still loads to do and finish off on the car, but for now it's a rust free 1970's Nissan I've just had a radiator installed in my garage and I've ordered some insulation to make it a bit nicer to work on the car through the winter. Suspension, brakes, fuel system, wheels, tyres... Still loads to do. 4 Quote Link to comment
RandyWanger
Plodding along with this one when time and funds allow. It has been pushed outside so enjoy some British sun (we do get it every now and then) and a wash to get all the dirt and bodyshop dust off it. Datsport camber/toe kit installed: New wheels Fitted And finally fitted my SEV lights I've been hoarding for years And wasn't sure about this, been going around and around. RandyWanger
I've not updated this in a while. I got the car running and driving and then it broke and now I'm walking away. Essentially it's a rolling shell with a broken L18/W53 (sped in thread) in pieces in boxes. All the nice bolt-on parts for the engine come with it, along with the 5 speed stubby, LSD etc. I do have a spare L18 complete (run when parked) L18 block and W53 peanut head. Transportation might be tricky but that can be figured out if someone wants it. DM me if interested, no rush to sell but it is time to draw a line and move on. 1 Quote Link to comment
