abominable666
I picked this 74 620 from my friend who had planned on scrapping it. Got it for for 140$. It does not run yet but im pretty sure i can handle the task at hand. 1 Quote Link to comment
red13
Nice score. It will be easy to get up and running and there's many options to choose from. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I'd say you got a deal even if it had no drive train. Like the step side but the box flairs don't really flow. Too bad about the hood but replaceable. Cutting into the body is a big no no with me and probably why I hate box flairs. Never seen a front end like that before. Painted bumper is different but matches everything. That's a later '78-'79 grill. Check out the earlier ones sometime. Welcome to Ratsun... you have arrived. Quote Link to comment
abominable666
Ya I've never seen a 620 with the wide body on it. I think it was meant for a 510. I just couldn't let it go to the junkyard for 140$ Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Agree. It sure fits the front well. Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
I like it, it's a very unique vehicle and I would drive it. Good buy Quote Link to comment
abominable666
Thank you. Definitely one of a kind. Still trying to find a L20b for it locally but no luck yet Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You will also need the flywheel with it. Is there a motor with this one? I see a head in the back. Quote Link to comment
Farmer
Wow, that thing is awesome Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The great thing about Datsuns is they are cheap to buy cheap to fix, and cheap to run. And that one looks really cool! Quote Link to comment
abominable666
There is a motor. Its seized at the moment. Soaking it in marvels mystery oil at the moment. Ill let you all know how that goes. That's an extra head in the back that was just sitting in the back when I got it Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Look at top edge of block just below head and behind the oil dip stick. The engine size is stamped there. Quote Link to comment

wayno
Nice old school find, and what a deal, he would have got more in scrap for it than you bought it for. Look at the casting number on that head, maybe it's worth something. L20b engines are fairly common, but one has to find someone parting out a wrecked vehicle, or someone doing a conversion to a running datsun. I have a Z20S that ran before I helped pull it, it sounded good, I had to take the engine to get the 2 shortshaft 720 5 speed transmissions I wanted, it was a package deal, all or nothing, it's been sitting out of the elements in my shed for a while now, it is complete, but you are a ways away. I have to say that I like stepside boxes, but I hate the taillights inside the fenders, but that is my issue, and not yours, I like the old chevy truck taillights myself. Here are my taillights.
