Layzboy Posted January 24, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 Ive tried every possible oil filter i.e bosch royal purple etc and found that for some reason i just liked this filter plus i bough a mobil 1 and bosch filter and had the filter part inside break apart and hold the pressure relief ball valve in the block closed and they oil filters literally blew off Quote Link to comment

Get a NAPA gold or Wix for the win. The ball valve on the block is supposed to be closed. It is supposed to only open if the filter plugs and pressure will force it open. The idea is that dirty oil is better than no oil. If you blew the filter off, and I have split open two filters before, it's because the pressure regulater valve in the oil pump stuck. I would check the oil pump and definitely get rid of that fram. 1 Quote Link to comment
