PL120321
You've done a really nice job of the 510. It's nice to see that you haven't hackedit up and done a really tasteful job. My car that I just got back has had the door cards and front doors cut for speakers and the rear shelf too. Disappointing as I avoided doing this when she was mine, but c'est la vie. My blue car was a 69. The car I have back now is my 1970 4 door. Once I figure out how to add photos I'll add a few of my car to here. It was originally yellow, but is now burgundy. My mom would love to see some pics and an update. She'll appreciate what you have done. 2 Quote Link to comment
mattyhacks71
Nice but a 521 is the way to go. I like 521s too but the 620 has always been a nicer looking truck in my opinion. Dat bullet side  I can't think of any other truck I like the styling of better actually. Hope you have a garage for both of these vehicles!! Very nice Ha! I have none for either :( Currently working on finding somewhere dry to put the 510 this winter. You've done a really nice job of the 510. The easiest way myself and most others on here have found to post pictures is via photobucket.com You upload your pictures to their website and then copy the link to the little Polaroid "Image" icon above where you enter text. Here's a guide, its a couple years old and not exact because the site has changed, but you'll get the idea. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/54932-photobucket-ratsun/ 3 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
I like the 620 also, its just there is so many and i like the metal on the 521's and not the plastic grill and dash. but that is a nice truck. 2 Quote Link to comment
mattyhacks71
Finally part of the 620 crew! Been eyeing this truck up for years. used to drive past it and I left my number in the guys mail box a few times. Checked my phone one day at work and I had a voice mail from him saying he was looking to sell it, but by the time I called him back it was already sold :( Kurk (FricFrac on here) managed to find me the name of the kid that bought it. So I messaged him on facebook asking to sell it to me if he was ever going to. Anyways, last week he messaged me saying he lost his license and needed to get rid of it  It's a 74, L18 truck with a 5 speed swap. Was a driver and maintained pretty good by the previous-previous owner. It has some rust that needs to be dealt with, the worst being the drivers side rocker, and the bed sides have some cancer too. Would like to keep it stock and get collectors plates :) 8 Quote Link to comment

mattyhacks71
Question. So because I hate those little blue valve cover breather filters, I've decided to look into purchasing a oil separator/catch can. Skyblue got a real nice looking Moroso one so I've decided on one similar. https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/mor-85469/overview/ My question is, with my canon intake and no PCV valve, would it be proper to just plumb the valve cover breather to one fitting and the crankcase into the other? I know catch cans and such are not really needed for a street car, just looking for input. 1 Quote Link to comment

And I wanted to minimize the amount of PCV Hoses traveling through my engine bay. 2 Quote Link to comment
mattyhacks71
This is how the past month has gone. Acquired long tube header Wrapped said header Installed said wrapped header Started welding 2in pipe together with a resonator in between. Couple clamps so I could weld all the pieces on the bench instead of in place. Made a flange out of 3/16 plate And bolted on the yoshimura The whole job went better than I expected, my welds turned out pretty good. Its loud, but I'm happy with the note. The muffler isn't everyone's cup of tea but I think its different and pretty cool. The header hangs down low, its already met a couple of speed bumps lol 1 Quote Link to comment

DatMo
Great stuff!!! Tell me how it goes with your moroso catch can because I plan to do the exact same thing but unfortunately, I'm not sure what size hoses are required. Quote Link to comment

You can go AN to barb type adapters. I think I'm going to hold off for now though, Portland swap meet is coming up and I'd like to see if I can pick up something cool and vintage Quote Link to comment

mattyhacks71
Update on bamboozle. Finally got to replacing all the worn front suspension and steering components. Spent about 130 bucks on rock auto and got inner and outer tie rod ends, sway bar end links and bushings, control arm bushings, tension rod bushings and ball joints. Sand blasted and painted. Also painted the front wheel wells. I hate the look of wells that are body colour. Used black roll bar and chassis paint. When I get around to refreshing rear end components I will also do the rear wells and the seams below the rocker panels. Also got some used rear coilovers. Koni shocks with Eibach springs. She's pretty low now, basically riding on the factory bump stops. Will probably need to go up a tad as I'm scrapping the header on basically everything. Then insurance and a full tank of gas  Alignment tomorrow. 1 Quote Link to comment
mattyhacks71
Canopy was aquired for the 620. Helped my buddy move from Vancouver to Victoria a little while ago too. Mattress and box spring made it a little bit sketchy driving the highway in the windy rain. Purchased my first brand new set of tires for the truck too. Hankook white walls to go on the factory steelies. 3 Quote Link to comment

mattyhacks71
Happy new year y'all. Planning on fixing this thread soon when I get some free time. 2018 plans for the car include the following; -Fix right side tension rod mount. We noticed when the car was getting aligned the caster was way out. Some futher measuring noted the right side TC rod mount is out about a 1/2 compared to the left side. So I'll have to take care of that and hopefully get the car to drive straight! -I've got some adjustable tension rods to go in as well, hopefully will take up whatever remains after fixing that mount. -I'd like to drop the rear subframe, and take care of the worn out bushings as well as give it a fresh coat of paint. With it out I will probably paint the rear wheel well to match the front, as well as paint the half shafts and also replace the u-joints. -As much as I do love the Yoshimura muffler...I think I will probably get something more sensible and with a less "ricer" sound. This should not be too difficult as the yoshi is on a standard 3 bolt header flange, so I'll have "quick change" muffler abilities. -I picked up some 13x7 American Racing Libre's. I'm a big fan of these wheels, but probably won't run them probably. Thinking about some certain non road legal tires for them to complete the full BRE look. That's all for now.
