mainer311
Putting the finishing touches on this 1199 Duck. I bought two detail-up kits for it. The chain by itself was 202 pieces. Complete insanity. 10 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Definitely gotta order a few of those... 😁 I have 3 of the Z432 Fujimas (see below) and they are pretty good kits. And are still readily available for a decent price. I am betting the Tamiya will eclipse it in quality, though. They always do. 3 Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
Pre ordered a couple of these from Amazon, mainly for the Gotti Wheels! 3 Quote Link to comment

Like working on the race car 😁 2 1 Quote Link to comment

mainer311
I bought one of these while they were still available. Shown here in a box that’s as big as my oven. Edited April 13 by mainer311 7 Quote Link to comment

I really miss the days when interiors came in actual colors like red and blue, instead of greige... 😑 3 Quote Link to comment

mojojojo78
I haven't made model since I was a kid. I have a bunch of kits but they are just sitting there. I finally decided to make one and I got overly ambitious with this one. I have a VW Bug that I am converting into a Super Bugger RV. I don't know how it will turn out, but so far it looks good. 2 Quote Link to comment
yenpit
Nice!! Have you attempted any curves in the camper shell walls? When I was a kid building, I would heat the plastic/styrene over a candle & manipulate it. Find a "buck" to form it evenly? I'm not talking compound curves, just flat curves, as those would be relatively simple to manage!! Can't wait to see your progress!! 1 Quote Link to comment
mojojojo78
Thank you Yenpit. I thought about it, but getting even some of these straight flat pieces to line up right is a task. If this one goes well I might try another one. Maybe improve on the design. Right now I am trying to figure out the best way to make nice windows. Edited May 29 by mojojojo78 1 Quote Link to comment

It's usually the right scale thickness and easy to manipulate. If you're just doing those flat side windows, some of that styrene strip glued up in the right shape for a frame and the acetate should get it done? 2 Quote Link to comment

And you can get it in dark tinted versions, even tinted in different colors. Maybe some cool color that matches/compliments the RV? 2 Quote Link to comment

I mean the opposite of concave!! Now THAT would be cool!! 😎 1 Quote Link to comment
mojojojo78
I was thinking about making the rear window a pop out style. I am trying to figure out the best way to do the interior too. I will take a look at the acetate sheets. Quote Link to comment
mojojojo78
I was working on the Super Bugger a little more last night. I didn't realize how much of a "chop" I had given the windshield area. I also didn't realize how wonky some of my cuts were. Well, its my first attempt. I might try another if I feel ambitious enough and if this one goes well. 3 Quote Link to comment
