q-tip
A skill saw with it's own office? Oh I gotta get one of those. I bet that's a horribly loud office to be in. Quote Link to comment
paradime
True^^^ But that office saw rotates so slow I'll bet it's quieter than a skill saw. Literally shaves the metal. Quote Link to comment

Removing metal from metal with metal is not a quiet process, I'm a machinist I should now. I work on stuff close to that size, just that machine running is going to be loud. Quote Link to comment
paradime
God damn Q, Can't I just have my fantasy saw dream without you shitting on it? It's not loud! And in my DREAMS, I'm surfing ratsun in that nice quiet office defending my dreams from none believers. No fairy dust for you! 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
No phones allowed in the shop!!!! Sorry paradime, I'm just a realist with those sorts of things. I would hate to change the inserts in that big ass wheel cutter, has to be 100 plus. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Yeah, but just think how badass the Datsun with that engine could be! :D Quote Link to comment

I would hate to change the inserts in that big ass wheel cutter, has to be 100 plus. A single carbide insert of that size would run 400-500$ each 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I think it has 4-5 smaller ones that run across the face of it, but it would still be a lot of money to fill that thing with carbide. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
Gross amount for sure. Wish I had that budget. 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I work with a guy that will use no more than 4 corners on an 8 corner turning insert, I haven't used a new insert in 4 months. He had a bin of "used" inserts by his machine I weighed it after I sorted it. Was $5500 worth of good corners, that's was just an average of course. Quote Link to comment

q-tip
Rat him out.... or sell them back to the company. They don't care, all you have to is show up to work on time and nothing else really matters. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
I have worked with that guy. Needs a new drill with every job packet too. 3 Quote Link to comment
