I just find it funny how all the moronic Chebby fanboys talk all the :poop:  about our "Jap" vehicles and yet their big hero powerplant, the Duramax is made by Isuzu!

(Note how MORONIC is in italics. That means only the stupid Chevy owners, not ALL Chevy owners!)

Heck, I think I or someone in the family have owned most of the brands too. If I haven't owned it I have driven and worked on  it through my 17 years as a mechanic. No real brand loyalty with me. I do keep going back to Nissans though. I have owned four Nissan trucks so far. I had some brand loyalty due to getting a huge discount through Ford when I worked there.

I am an unabashed Nissan/Datsun fanboy, but I still like my P.O.S. Acura MDX. Truth is my street driving days are pretty much over, but I still rock the UFO auto cross events here and there with my brother. If I can walk the course pre race and plot it out in my mind, I'm still competitive. Datsun makes me do it. No Chevy would ever do that.

Well, that changes everything! I am thoroughly convinced!! I am selling my shit and buying me a diesel pick up to go beat up on Hondas!

Now, who has a totally set up for racing, non stock, pick up for sale? So I can go after cars that maybe have a K&N filter. Anybody?

'merica!

Get your facts straight, Isuzu helped engineer the Duramax, but it is built by GM!

any v-8 diesel is a fail regardless of manufacturer....... why do big rigs run a million miles between rebuilds ... why do cummins last for ever assuming u dont 2jz it, and pour boost to stock internals.... why do gm and ford try and reinvent a tried and true fourmula.... coffee can pistons ...stupid v-8 diesels

Simple, Ford and Chevy would go out of business if their light trucks went a Million miles. Engineered obsolescence is part of their product development plan. Same reason Japan cuts their cars in half after 40k, keeps the auto industry's factories turning out and selling new product. .

Why V8 diesels? Because the 'Murica rednecks that buy the majority of the trucks who do not them in the first place think more cylinders equals more power and torque. They couldn't deal with a 5liter four cylinder in their pickup, it would not suffice in overcompensation for the tiny penises!

I worked at a Chevy dealer for two years (10-12) as a mechanic. The engines were Isuzu and I installed Isuzu brand parts on them, so...

i haz a durajacks in my box van and would rather have the 8.1.....far less fickle of a motor and still gets 10mpg....... fucking totally get what your saying about the dealership part tooo ....engineering service contracts into there newly released vehicles ... much like gm hybrid program.... just a reason to get cars back in the service bay .... and im a gm guy too ...just sad .... shoulda let gm and ford  go bankrupt when we had the chance and helped real business not banks and failing car companys
