heretic
THANKS.!!!! so very cool. stupid question....... does the fiberglass have any issues bonding to the plastic AND are you using MDF to build out your custom parts? 1 Quote Link to comment
heretic
sorry for all the questions.. my red truck has a TRASHED dash & I've been toying with the idea of doing something like this but it's been a VERY LONG time since I've played with fiberglass. 1 Quote Link to comment
nis720
THANKS.!!!! so very cool. stupid question....... does the fiberglass have any issues bonding to the plastic AND are you using MDF to build out your custom parts? Fiberglass does not bond very well with plastic, it does but will come off with little effort. The framing and moulding is done with MDF and it's stappled to the dash. I'm mostly fiberglassing over the foam padding on top. I scrapped off the vinyl and filled in the cracks. 2 Quote Link to comment
heretic
:) AHHHHH I see :) ... so in a sense you're creating a new "dash cap" but directly on/bonded to the foam. 1 Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
I wish I had fiberglass skills. I am building a dash for a personal project right now that I have over 80 hours into. If I had to charge a customer for that, he might pay me in lead. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Somewhere it's mentioned that they did come from the factory made in plastic. You can always paint them black. Also start an introduction thread in General Discussion and tell us about your 720.... and post lots of pictures. 1 Quote Link to comment
