UnderControl
After a week or so of going through I finally made it to the end... Have some Mustangs 1965 American Iron (351W Turbo) 1966 Shelby (yes a real one) GT 350 347 twin centris Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Nice, I saw the first shelby ever off the assembly line a few weeks ago. It was awe inspiring. My friends dad does a bunch of work for Barrett Jackson and he had it in the shop. He told me it was the first one, ever. Kinda hard not to listen to someone who has a 1.6 million dollar Lola T70 sitting mere feet from the Shelby, (not to mention the McLaren MPs he had sitting there) The shop was so awe inspiring I didnt even get pictures, I will though. UnderControl
I've seen many shelbys, that will happen at a Shelby owners car show though... Quote Link to comment

q-tip
Gt40 is one of the best LM cars of the sixties for sure, back when US automakers could build a race car..... Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Even today they dominate on the track. I mean a nice GT40 kit car, which are insanely accurate to the real thing, will clean up with a pro behind the wheel. The same cant be said for the Ford GT, They are massive cars in comparison. The Superformance GT40 is really quite impressive honestly. Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
kit car, which are insanely accurate to the real thing so is my Chrysler lebaron /Ferrari f40 kit car it cleans up everywhere.....what do u say to that my balloon hands Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Go look at a Superformance GT40 replica. Actually all GT40 kit cars are very very close to the original. Well then theres the entire dilemma of how many "truly real" ones are there? nobody actually knows. Quite a few of the "real" ones are just an original bodywork on a rebulit frame. And vis versa, a rebuilt body on an original frame. The Gulf is a legitimate real all original body and frame GT40. Look at it without its clothes on next to a naked rep. I dont think your Lebaron F40 can keep up to a real F40 on track, however the Superformance and many reps actually perform the same or better than the original GT40. Quote Link to comment

DAT510
This is car porn Not domestic fat uncultured car manufactures that cant build a proper car that will run for 300k miles without cracking their plastic intakes or welding the spark plugs to the heads Ford sucks just like Chevy does They peaked in the 60s with real iron, after the oil crisis the Japanese won over the US. Shit look at all the new american cars that follow in the steps of the Japanese. My dads Hunda Accorn has more shit standard, and looks/feels better than 90% of USDM cars. Ford is kicking in ass in other countries, like with Cosworth Escorts, and Chevy in Australia... Still, ford will never build a car like the old Continental, and Chevy will never build a cool car cause all their cars are the same Except for maybe 65 Impala. Notice I left dodge out of this.. 2 Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Dodge/Chrysler are worse now, their not even American owned. Ford doesnt sell good stuff here cause they know their market, its the consumers fault. Quote Link to comment

FWIW, Top Gear did an episode pitting old against new and one of the races was an original GT40 versus a Ford GT. It really wasn't even that close. The Ford GT won by a good bit. UnderControl
As long as we are on the topic of American cars (I have 2 mustangs...and a lot of pictures of various others) I can't remember if this was before or after the challenger blew his clutch out at the burnout box. I do have a soft spot for the 2.5 RS though and the Legacy GT But anything they can do... Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Which one is the Challenger? The black one with the silver wheels or the black one with the silver wheels... or the black one with the silver wheels? 1 Quote Link to comment
