Omelet720
Oh, with the BRE style, maybe cut the blue at the line across the front and leave the valence white?Something seems off on the blue though..Just my thoughts, sheesh.. What do I know, lol. 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Im kinda with ya on not extending the blue all the way down.im in no rush to decide...as i want to be happy with my final choice. 2 Quote Link to comment
.gauge.
What size cross bars are you using? I just got in some 48" ones but I'm afraid they're going to be too short. I'm guessing you have the 58"? 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
I used a set of 58" bars and custom cut them down to a length that I liked mine are 52.5" now. hope that helps ya. my deflector is a 48" if I remember correctly. 1 Quote Link to comment
.gauge.
Yeah, it does. From your pics on pg. 15 they still stick out from the towers a few inches so hopefully mine will be just long enough. Good looking 720. I like the BRE scheme or the green over black. 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
yeah I cut mine to poke out as far as the turn handles do. so 48" should fit fine they just will not go past the mounting point much. and thanks for your input on color scheme...I still can't decide. 1 Quote Link to comment

nismo24096
NO update...lol just wanted to say I was still alive and still have the truck...its just been on the back burner right now with work taking up all my time. but I still plan to get going on it soon. 2 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Ok finally got back out to the body shop to work on the truck..... Bed and everything else was also put in primer today...more bodywork to come...lol joy joy...but soon the door jambs and inside of the doors will be sprayed so we can put it back together and then do the outside... Final color choice has been decided..going with a pure white...most likely the pikes peak white from the 2003 350z since after that year they added pearl to the color..the engine Bay Area will remain the dark bronze color for now since it's already done..but if I ever have to remove the motor it will get resprayed as well. I still may do the BRE scheme later once the paint as fully cured but it will be done as a vinyl wrap so it can be undone when I get tired of it. 3 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Ok figured I would post some more progress pics of the truck. and yes those are 521 rear bumpers that will be my front split bumpers this is one of the colors I am considering, suzuki splash white pearl... it will be between this and pikes peak pearl white. this is just a 2 oz sample that we are going to spray tomorrow to compare. 1 Quote Link to comment

nismo24096
ok did some metal work to patch up some rust holes on the back of the cab. also got my grill mesh to do the front air dam, gonna try and get it bent and cut tomorrow. once I get done with the other metal work. 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
ok more rust repair, this is the last patch that needs to be welded to the cab. the others have been done, this will get done tomorrow most likely, front end mockup for the mesh grill insert. test fitting the placement of the split bumpers. Grill mesh roughed in, and bent to follow the front angles, fun part is there is a dual curve to this thing, up and down, and side to side...that was fun to make happen. 3 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I'm looking forward to seeing this with the split bumpers fit up. I'm not a fan of just stripping the front bumper off. It looks unfinished, just like leaving a fender off would look. I like your solution to this. 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Thanks man, if you look back you can see the early photo shop of the idea im going for, the final placement of the split bumpers will be higher than the original photoshop mainly so I can align the 2inch flat spot with the 2in body molding on the side of the truck, this way it all flows into each other and looks factory. I have some other little ideas for the truck that I will add as we make more progress. Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Almost done with the grill piece. Just need to spray it satin black and cut out where the bumper mounts will pass through. 2 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Is that just plastic door edge guard kind of stuff wrapped around the outside? It looks nice in the pics, whatever you did 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Yup thats what it is. With the way this is gonna mount it will protect the paint also. This will be a removable piece if needed. Im very happy with the outcome and its looking just like my initial photoshop idea. 1 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Ok small update, got the bumper mount holes cut out and ready to make the connecting mounts that will hold the split bumpers on. got the shop help to give me a quick visual...lol he seems real happy to be holding my bumper right? 4 Quote Link to comment
nismo24096
Ok took care of some issues on the truck today...seems this is not supposed to be a floating two piece assembly...lol much better 2 Quote Link to comment
