Draker
It is like a hard stop like something is hitting? or does it just not move at all? Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
It's weird, the bottom end seems to move a bit, top end goes nowhere I'm too afraid of having the valves kiss a piston to force anything Was kinda wondering if the assembly lube had dried up since I put it together but I doubt it.... So I got mad and decided to lower the goon Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I forgot to ask Jrock to tape em off..... It's my bad and I too am a bit apprehensive You could clean up the tubing section with a wire wheel before you put a hose on there. The coating may cause problems later on when you try to take the hose off. So I got mad and decided to lower the goon Assembly lube shouldn't dry out, especially in as short of a period as this has been together. Did the cams rotate freely before you installed the timing chain? 1 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Never had to spin the cams prior to instal. I'll pull the top timing cover and top timing chain another day and find out redeye 1 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Did you assemble the pistons dry? I always have a coffee can of oil that I dip the pistons in before installing in the cylinders. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Yes, I was working with the FSM and a Nissan master tech neither advised to dip anything in oil. And the motors been on the stand for 6 months so I would imagine the oil would have seeped down to the pan anyway Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
But, since all is well I'm on to the emissions delete and assembly of the install mani. Once those are done and the transmission has been pressure washed I can drop the motor and trans in for The first time For anyone interested this is a badass written up on emissions delete and intake manifold assembly http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/intake-manifold-mysteries-revealed-diy-ka24de-emissions-removal-and-assembly.html 1 Quote Link to comment
