chevtruknut
Without going all the way back or taking too long, exactly what model do you have? Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
It would seem that all models have a different window part number. Looks like wagon fits only wagon. Anyone? Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
Yep, pretty sure that's the case. Might also try Rock auto they listed one for mine! Quote Link to comment
THEa10wagonsss
Idk why they would you think datsun would try since the next generation of car try to make it as inexpensive as possible to make all the windshields the same Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
I don't think they thought that way back then..... I heard of stories I believe it was chevy or Cadillac and they would change things after 1 years requiring a full retool to produce the neccessary parts.... Datsun even used both metric and standard bolts... I think they finally stopped that at some point.... Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
I'm old enough to have been a technician ( mainly auto body) in the late 70's and I have tons of stories of weird crap they did back then. Unfortunately changing things ( at least) every year was common place back then. Now it costs too much to retool so every thing stays the same way too long! Quote Link to comment

This is rushing into production and or, finding that there is a cheaper way to do it. Early Datsun mechanical parts were a copy of Brittan's Austin car company that they imitated.( they were still using the BSPT oil pressure senders well into the 2000's) Cars coming to N Am would have also needed a metric tools to fix them so it was kept SAE till the mid 60s? Safety belt bolts and brake systems were some of the last to go hard metric. Quote Link to comment

THEa10wagonsss
Negative the 2 door hatchback is on rockauto I might just get that one I don't really see the difference in why they would make 3 different windshields for the the assembly line wouldn't be efficient Quote Link to comment
