oldskoolvws
Hmmm, got a few bearing sets in today. Are these Nachi's the correct ones? Just picked up to see but they match the hubs Mike gave me. 1 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
Yes....they're correct. For anyone else looking......in the bottom pic.....the bearing at the top is the 620 drum bearing.....listed as a 32KB02/11 1 Quote Link to comment
oldskoolvws
Top is 620, middle is new 520/521 and bottom is used 520/521. Just happened to find those new ones. They do cross over to a readily available bearing I think. I might buy one to match it up and see if it is indeed a match. 1 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
Nope. They were an OEM bearing. The datsun trucks were the only thing they were ever made for. The bearings for the disc hubs are the exact opposite.....they fit nearly every small truck out there. You can still find the 620 bearing fairly easily, but the 521 bearing.......pretty rare to come across. I used to say they're non-existent, but I just bought a new set off ebay the other day. Got a heads up from thisismatt so I bought them. I may rebuild a set of 521 hubs with them. I maybe modify the hubs to use different lug studs.....something I've had banging around in my head for awhile. Anyway.... 2 Quote Link to comment

oldskoolvws
So question is, do I need longer studs? I have 7 complete hand tight turns, so I'm assuming 8 or 9 full turns tight. 2 Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
So question is, do I need longer studs? I have 7 complete hand tight turns, so I'm assuming 8 or 9 full turns tight. Suggestion is "Every stud must be long enough to thread a length at least equal to the stud diameter. Example: If using a 1/2" diameter stud, the lug must engage a min. of 1/2" of the stud length." Happens to be a sticky in the General Technical section... 3 Quote Link to comment
