freetheoranges
Still driving the Dimeton Abbey. Runs well. Park it outside my bedroom window with a dropcam pointed at it. Missing Datsun nights at all autos. 2 Quote Link to comment

freetheoranges
I hope it's not the same pan I have... Tried to get a pic, too dark. EDIT: Ho hum anyone suppose the one I have now with the hole could be a core for some other purchase? Quote Link to comment
shacks510
That's the same style pan I have on my L16. I've seen others, like Antony, that have a different shape sump resivour with the drain plug on the back. The flakey paint was bothering the shit outta me... I hit it lightly with a wire brush to get the big stuff off. I was almost gonna ask you what color you want it so I could straighten and paint it. 1 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
... and hey, a used glove works, right? I had them all in my hand, then I just peeled the glove off. 1 Quote Link to comment

shacks510
What's wrong with your old oil pan? Quote Link to comment
freetheoranges
Supposedly from a 620 (I think) so the clearance on the steering components is nil and it rubs. And there is a hole so the oil just flows out... Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Supposedly from a 620 (I think) so the clearance on the steering components is nil and it rubs correct white? just my opinion pans should be black to hide the oil seepage better 1 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
Use a comp gasket with some sealer and you won't have that problem  Those cork and rubber gaskets are junk. 1 Quote Link to comment

freetheoranges
If the oil pan leaked oil, I would very much like to find the source, thus white might suffice. 3 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
If the oil pan leaked oil, I would very much like to find the source, thus white might suffice. This is why a lot of race car shit is painted white or dove grey. B) 2 Quote Link to comment

freetheoranges
Stripped oil pan, washed in warm soapy water and dried five times, repainted engine enamel high temp white which the can says is oil resistant. I made the bottom level and gave it a thick dripping coat. 3 Quote Link to comment
