H5WAGON
Why you have the crank case vent hole plugged wiith the expandable rubber plug ??? PS You better open up the crank case vent HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least open vent it if you not going to use a PCV system. I guess Derek can do what he wants, I have ran mine like this for the last 2yrs, a motor my friend had built form a race car motor builder did the same except it has a steel cap machined to fit. The L motor will not build up any pressure in the crank case....it can breath from the font cover up to the Valve cover. There may be the issue of blow by dirtying up the oil, but I change mine on a regular basis. If your motor has that much blow by....replace it. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I PM him and he had it covered just for painting. if you want to plug it go ahead. Nissan designed the crank case vent for a reason. They have alot more money than me to design stuff Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Then this will be fun. I had never owned a manual when I had swapped my car. I learned on my brother-in-laws 01 Neon like 3 years prior. And then whenever a friend would let me drive their car I would get a reminder. At least the 510 is a light car. Quote Link to comment
Draynor
Same. Learned on friends cars, But haven't drove one in a while...Shouldn't be too bad... Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
Fucking sweet, good job "h5wagon" lol 2 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Did you swap to the manual 510 gas pedal also? as I assume you know they are offset better the auto gas pedals will be to close to the brake with doing the clutch box swap. Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
I think they just did the manual clutch and brake pedals, stock auto pedal. Doesn't drive to bad, I think the clutch could use a little adjustment but overall she sounded and drove well Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
Some project shots.. Derek moving brake lines back into place after cutting hole for trans. Motor in.. All wired up and ready to fire up. She runs and drives, need a real solution to the trans X-member and some other little details. We had a big task of things to do, with crappy weather to do it in. R/R....Pedal Assembly & Steering column Remove Auto shift linkage Clutch Master & bend clutch line Change L20 to rear sup after 1600 was pulled....Very dirty....Clean & Paint and motor mounts Cut shifter hole Plug front sum dip stick hole Wire up Match Box dist. Disable Automatic interlock Remove air rail off of exhaust mani and plug holes Head gasket, front cover....front and rear seals etc.....Freeze plugs I might be missing a few things.. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Looks good Yeah get the manual Gas pedal arm As you dont want to slam on the brake and hit the gas at the same time also I would have stayed with the L16 exhaust manifold as the lower intake bolts are Ez to get to Quote Link to comment
Draynor
Been driving it all day, I'm loving it! I have been getting really close to the gas pedal when I brake, So I am gonna look for a manual arm. Now to get to all the little problems that bug me...Water on the floors, dome lights, carpet, seat mounts,etc... Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
I think I have one from a manual laying around..? I will look. 1 Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I dont have a problem of the gas pedal and brake pedal too close, I have a problem of the brake pedal and tranny tunnel being too close. My friends have a hard time driving my car as even with resting their foot against the tranny tunnel they hit the edge of the brake peddle. The gas pedal is pretty well centered. I guess wearing a size 9 helps... 1 Quote Link to comment
