Z-train
Chevy hoods make Datsuns break down like Detroit products.A repo Mach 1 scoop would look much better. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Looks like a Datsun hood modified for cowl induction to me... :) Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
I personally love it. I will be doing the same Prolly if I have clearance issues after I z my frame. I think it looks sexy Quote Link to comment
KC Phirus
Scroll down that link to find 620 hoods, fiberglass with or without cowl. I planned on pulling the hood from my parts truck and either cut it and make cowl induction or cut the entire middle out and revers it to make a scoop and just make pin mounts Quote Link to comment
southern620
I realy like that hood. Quote Link to comment
pharouh
I like it too. Quote Link to comment
kaoss
Why are you zing your frame? Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
To get a low ride height without having to nessesarily run a super lower psi. Plus it will remove any clearance issues I might run into with the lower control arm hitting the frame when I air out as the suspension wont have to travel as far to get low. Quote Link to comment
kaoss
Convert it to ball joints and run drop spindles. You'll be much happier with it. Mine is Z'ed about a 1/2". Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
I have have ball joints. Im a 79 Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
Where can I find drop spindles?? I have been looking!?! Quote Link to comment
yello620
Where can I find drop spindles?? I have been looking!?! Drop spindles for a 79 do not exist. You can however convert to Hardbaody drop spindles very easily, but you have to convert the front to the hardbody brakes too. No big deal. The HB spindles bolt right onto the balljoints that you already have. Quote Link to comment

You usually only Z a truck because the front cross member hangs down too low (like a c10) or you are two cheap to convert it to using a drop spindle (like my truck) and it won't lay out any other way. datzenmike
You dont want that hood. Ruins the truck. I personally love it. I will be doing the same .... I think it looks sexy Seen worse. Hood pins are retarted. Quote Link to comment

Ooooo very nice. That's good to know. That will save me some work lol. So with drop spindles I should nt have a problem laying on 18's? Sorry to thread jack this turned from a 620 hood thread to talk of bags and spindles. Quote Link to comment
kaoss
You shouldn't. Mines on a 17" wheel, but running king pins. I did about a 1/2" Z and sectioned 1/2" out of my LCA. I've seen other 620's on taller wheels laying out, but don't know what they did to get it that way. Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
So just need ti find the biggest drop spindle I can. Hmmm time to start hunting. I wonder if a 3" will clear the wheels and such. I know 2"drop will and I have seen those. Haven't seen a 3" yet. Quote Link to comment
