Truly a great experience although nerve racking at times and being broke isn't fun either but sacrifices usually pay off big!! And I think this payoff is going to be Mammoth! SR20DETdatsun510 Posted May 25, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 25, 2012 So I have asked Mazworx some questions about my motor and such and they came back with some very interesting comments. They said There is no need to re-torque the head. The combination of the Mazworx head studs and the MLS head gasket does not require it. As far as motor oil/fluids, I can use whatever I like but that they use Valvoline VR1 or Amsoil in their race cars. I am opting for Mobil1 Syn. Their Motor Engineer said that my head was done right and my choice of head components was very well thought out. I did not tell them that I bought it like that tho. haha lol He said that my block was in fantastic shape and the work done to it is what they do in their High HP motors and will be a very reliable street/strip motor. And if you know Mazworx, they are the SR20 specialists! So the Motor Engineers opinion of this motor is that it’s very stout and should, depending on my setup (Turbo, injectors, fuel, tuning, etc), be able to produce up to 1000hp! :w00t: Not that I am ever going to push it any where near that... :angel: Also, asked Mazworx, for insurance purposes, how much it would cost them to build a similar set up and they told me 11k!! Cleaned up about a quarter inch of grime off my tranny too!! After: Also got some pics of the progress on my bay. Stitch welds almost finished and ground down. Both sides of the towers, and all along the frame rail next. Holes and Brackets not needed will be filled and shaved. After all of that, strip, filler, block sanding and paint... Took almost 6 months to get! but Never a motor tho. The waiting and it almost being here is the worst part. They've had my motor since the beginning of March. Lol LOL, I have severe obstructive sleep apnea. I cant even use a cpap machine so I am drugged up with all kinds of crap just to get me to sleep. You are not young, right? I had it sent to my Bro's work cause he has a dock and Fork Lift. His New Bosses are Big Wigs but hella cool and it turns out they love Datsuns too. He told one of his bosses that this little 2.3 ltr 4 cylinder had the potential to produce 1000hp if set up right and he said "No fucking way!" But it is non-the-less true! Him (and I) about to unload it: Gave him a Mazworx T for being my Motor Delivery Guy... So let the unpacking begin..... This is what I found when I got the box opened. Some Mazworx Engine Techs, Customer Service and Sales guys bids of good luck! Quirky but cool... Some more unwrapping.... Brings a tear to my eye.... It wasn't long before I started to have fun with my motor.... Some Hugs.... Some Wrestling... Some Riding.... And You Knew Some Fucking!!!! Some more to come...... Here is another close up....
