izzo
Looks more like a truck now! Or, well, at least not like grandpas truck  I don't mind the rims, but these ones are pretty shitty. Probably going to paint them black. I spent about 20-30 minutes a rim with a wire wheel cleaning them up. First I was using 300 grit, but it was going to take way to long, and for these old ass rims were not worth my time. So they are already scuffed and down to metal in some spots... Some gloss black paint would do some wonders.these tires a 31 vs 29 stockers. so a few inches taller! Sweet sauce, i checked my GPS and the speedo was damn near dead on... 59 on the speed was 60 on teh gps. 1 Quote Link to comment
izzo
also got the reverse lights working. both lights were burned out and heavily corrected inside the housings. All better meow. Did a bit of clean up overall on the truck and some minor tweaks. I need to delete the emissions yet. Too many damn hoses under the hood  Also a u joint is on its way out. Can hear it clank... izzo
I have a lot of hours into the 620 for sale. I think james stone is gonna swoop in on it. New head, head gasket, new reman carb, new intake/exhaust gasket, new clutch master and slave, pulled motor and unfroze clutch, re-connected all the cut wiring.... Cleaned it up some... It will be leaving my house monday or tuesday. I was just doing the work on it. It will need some wiring re-done as all i had was cheap connectors... Perfect project as it runs n drives and you can do the work on it... When it leaves, this will be arriving... and it's mine 2 Quote Link to comment
izzo
messaged dude to come get his black 620 and so we can swap for MY blue 620 kc! Must be busy, haven't heard back :( Sad face.Really wanna hit that thing with a clay bar... Guess I'll just go play at the beach with the truck instead. It's 90 here right now.May goto Home Depot and buy a 40" 6ft tall tool box too.its a tough call, between this and the other... oh and...This is happening. 5 Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
I like my big wide box better for storing larger things like electric shit, long extensions, but the tall box is much better suited for hand tools.. I would say it's a toss up which is better really.. It's like if you ever went to that Sears in I think it is Tigard,, where almost the whole second floor is tools.. To many decisions 2 Quote Link to comment

To many decisions I've been there man. kid in a candy store. It is a hard call. I have a ton of hand tools, and I know i would fill up the tall one eventually, but the wide one has a wood top so it could be a mobile work station too. I think i may get the wide one... And if i need the bigger one later on I can get it. I think I have just enough tools and shit to fill up the wide one and be content. Then I could use my smaller 7 drawer 26" craftsman for a mobile tool box to throw in my truck and shit when I need... 2 Quote Link to comment
izzo
Here's my current box. It's stuffed FULL. Hard to open and close the drawers. Then below in the wood chest is more tools. Then behind that wall is a wire shelf with a bunch of tools on it, drills, skil saws blah blah, air tools etc.... Just no room for it all. it's everywhere! Fucked up part is, at my old house 2 months ago i had to have all that shit inside cuz no garage.. people stole ma shit! Got a nice sized garage and shop meow... so good to go 2 Quote Link to comment

In the mean time... I got this the other night. Been working on it... It's not as good as i thought it was, but still an ok truck. motor has a bad knock, so out the bitch came... izzo
Got the cr80 home tonight and apart... Found out why the motor was locked up. Grenade. The wrist pin bearing feels worn. There's some side to side play on the crank to rod bearing. Idk what the tolerance is. I'll have to hit up the cr forums and get some insight . Probably have to split the cases anyways to get the chunks out. Fucking people anyways. Maintenance isn't hard. It's a lot easier to replace a piston before it explodes. Quote Link to comment
Kirden
Wow, that's nasty. Think I'll stick to the mountain bike :P What is the plan on the rebuild? Just going to rebuild it for a fix or going for more performance? I'm not sure how bad your bike is, but when my Kawasaki grenaded a piston I ended up needing to replace everything. Ended up selling it for parts and bought my B210 :P Quote Link to comment
izzo
Yeah. I can tell maintenance hasn't been done. There's chunks in the bottom end. The cases need split. So... may as well grab a couple new Bearings. New piston. Clean it up and throw it together. Just gonna build it stock. Kids or gf will be riding this. I'm working on getting another big bike for me... Maybe a quad this time. Quote Link to comment

izzo
Cuz my bike is gone. But starting up again Lolz Pic time. The swing arm bolt is stuck all to fuck. Whaled on that fucker for an hour. Nothing. Got it hot then let it cool. Nothing. Gonna have to drill it out then take it in and have it pressed out. Some pics before I started cleaning. I scrubbed it some and didn't take any after pics. I'm not going to deep clean it. Just a good scrub down. Then wash after every ride. The swing arm bearings are locked. The link bearings are all dry as fuck. So new Bearings for link , swing arm , rear wheel. New engine bearings and a top end. Should be a ripper after that. Quote Link to comment
izzo
fucking christ. whaled on the bolt for 3 days. whole bottle of PB, torched it red hot, nothing... shit wont come out... Who dafuqs got a sawzall i can use for a minute.... This is where she sits as of now, cuz i are tired of fucking with it for the moment. some pics of the before cleaning shit.. no after pics yet... done working on it like i said for the moment... till i get some motivation Quote Link to comment
izzo
Swooped on this XR100 for peanuts. Got it home. ran like shit, well... barely ran... Took carb off and cleaned it, jets were clogged, bowl was dirty AS FUCK. Runs like a champ! New master link and its ride-able. Needs a few odds and ends, but fun toy now. Thoughts on this? I really don't think it's the U joints... There is some play, but not as bad as I had thought.. Hardly any play from front half of drive shaft to back half. so small i can't even measure it with the tools I have. I'd say 1/16 of an inch or less. soooo small... Quote Link to comment
