69dime
Anyone know where I can get a fitted upholstery kit or at least the vinyl cover? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
There are not enough 521 pickups for it to make economic sense for somebody to produce a kit. Take your seat to an auto upholstery shop, and have it redone. Quote Link to comment
69dime
I bet I can find some old stock somewhere... I'll update the thread if I do. I know they used to make them and people would buy them. Quote Link to comment
merlin
I'll be getting mine done next week... Will let you know how it goes. Quote Link to comment
69dime
Local quote was roughly 400-500 bucks including foamwork. It's too simple of a seat for that. Quote Link to comment
Sealik
I'll be getting mine done next week... Will let you know how it goes. Where....? Wouldn't mind my bench seat recovered. 69dime
This company says they can make a cover. We do offer a seat cover for your vehicle in our Custom Tailored Seat Cover Line. These seat covers are custom fit for your seats but are NOT original factory replacements. They can be installed either over the original skins or with the original skins removed. These seat covers are installed with hog rings for a permanent installation. Installation hardware is included with your seat covers. You can choose from any of the stock materials that we offer and you select the Design Layout from one of the 3 that are offered. Please review the below link and if you have additional questions you can email or contact us directly. Prices for the Custom Tailored seat covers are based on (1) Design Layout and (2) Choice of material you plan on using to create your seat cover. Here is the basic webpage: http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/seatcovers.htm Current production schedule is at least a minimum of 4 weeks. Quote Link to comment
RATDAT3
The problem with do it yourself covers----they may fit ok, but if you arent handy and run into problems, or your seat needs foam, spring or other work............The kits did look good and the prices were reasonable, but if you were coming to Canby, bring the seat--I'll do it For $250-$300. $500-$1000? That's just plain crazy! Quote Link to comment
69dime
I'm handy, otherwise I wouldn't own a Ratsun, right? ;) Need foam, but I'll make it myself. Springs seem ok. I'll try to do a writeup with pictures. Unfortunately I'm not going to Canby. 521 seat should be pretty simple. I did the 510 seats with covers from Too Intense (datsunrestore.com - his website is down now). Anybody happen to have pictures of the stock foam? If not, I will improvise. Costs me about $220 shipped. Quote Link to comment

mrbigtanker
i dont want to take a sell away but for cost plus shipping you would be better off just getting it done local.check around you will find the right guy sooner or later.plus you can choose the material you want, maybe leather or some velour. 69dime
Less than $100 + shipping done locally? Where? Shipping cost to you by express air mail 3-5 days $120.00 Shipping cost by surface $55.00 So less than $155 or less than $220 even? I don't think I could get it done for that. Quote Link to comment

69dime
What happened between May and now? :) Front of the seat looks a little crumpled but not a bad job. Summer happened! Plus I had other cars to work on. Like I said, I only spent an hour on it. Crimped it a little tight in those two spots. I'll fix them later. Quote Link to comment
zed1
Did you buy this set from 620green? Quote Link to comment
69dime
Nope. See my above comment, it lists where I had the cover made. With the exception of the side hinge/bolt hole location, it's a decent cover. Quote Link to comment
Madmax
what was the total price sent to you???..and looks great in my book, universal cover from Advanced autoparts sucks!!! Quote Link to comment
69dime
$225.00 + $20.00 shipping. Foam was 70+ shipping from eFoamStore.com. Probably could have done cheaper than that even. Quote Link to comment
Master-O-Turbonics
Patrick GeBreuer at Snellville Auto Upholstery did my bench seat and is also working on many other interior parts for me on this truck. Very reasonable prices too! Before: After: 1 Quote Link to comment
