Jason
Well, last year I picked up a 1992 RHD Suzuki Carry Van with Combi kit to get back and forth from work. It was pretty gutless with 42hp, but, it was 4WD and it was fun and handy. Well 3 weeks ago I got rear ended by a Ford pickup truck and the insurance company wrote her off last Monday with $7700 worth of damage :( ! RIP old girl! Since I liked getting 38mgp and it being so handy I started looking for another JDM kei Van. I found two for sale locally and picked up this one last Thursday. It's a 1990 Suzuki Every Van with the "Aero Tune Turbo PS Package" and makes about 60hp, whoo hoo  ! That's not bad for a 657cc, 3 cylinder engine because it has an intercooled turbo with fuel injection from the factory. It's RWD with a 5 speed and has a 6.45 rear end with leafs in back and struts up front. Only bad things is that it doesn't have the optional 4WD package, the special "panoramic" sunroof package or power windows, but, it has A/C and the upgraded interior. Here she is rollin' on the factory 12" allys with 145/80/12" tires. I changed over to some 13"x5.5" rims with 175/70/13's to start with ... Rolls along a lot better than the old one and cruises on the highway easily at 90km/hr and I can now easily keep up with traffic  ! She seats 4 and you get a 5½'-6' load space in the rear with the back seats folded down. This thing is not subtle at all ... Funky front end .... And it's covered by these "go fast" stickers ... I hope this one lasts a little longer than the 9 months the last one did! Anyone got any FWD offset rims in 13" or 14" in a 4x114.3mm bbolt pattern up for grabs, she needs a little more tire/rim! Guest 510kamikazifreak
 Funny looking previa Jason :P Or was that an Odyssey :P More room in this one Jason thats good! Do the go fast stickers help   Glad it worked out it the end. Quote Link to comment
WAGON JON
That is a nice little van. Do you have any intentions to swap the 4wd stuff into the new van? It might be a lot of trouble? dunno. Nice :D Quote Link to comment
Jason
Hey Lou, how's things ? Yah, I kinda veered off the beaten path again eh    ! Yah, ICBC was pretty good to me given the rarity of what I was driving and the fact that I was rear ended .... Yah, I figure the "go fast" stickers are good for another 5hp or so :P ! Nope Jon, I'm not going to swap the 4WD parts over to this guy, the layout is completely different for the drivetrain. The old one was mid mount engine setup with struts all around and this one is a front mount engine setup with struts up front and leafs in the rear. Don't wanna get into that, so I sold the bent hulk to a specialist dealer up North in Vernon. Quote Link to comment

Jason
The Alaska cruise was great! Yah gotta imagine this one, little guy, 5'4" 120lbs gets on the boat, no big deal. Heads for the buffet and eats lunch at 2pm. Sits down for dinner at 6pm and orders 3 appy's, main course with sides, and 3 desserts and eats it all   ! Bottle of wine later, I'm feeling pretty good for the day, but, come 10pm I'm up at the buffet again for a snack! This goes on 7 times a day for 7 days   ! I think I'm a little heavier now ;) ! Yah, the Corp couldn't figure out how to value the old van, I had to "educate" them for a week! It's all good now. Glad to hear things are level at least! Jason
Yup, that's me, the stomach that walks  ! Yah, if you want more than what they are offering, you gotta present a reasoned argument, had 3 dealers back me up too which helped! Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
I think there's on in town similar to that. Looks like like board on edge or a case of beer coming at ya. Diesel like the Delicas? Quote Link to comment
Jason
It's a gas powered version Mike, the Delica's are a little too big for what I have in mind and do with her. She rarely leaves the lower mainland. Urban people/cargo mover ... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Too bad these are not legal for road use in USA. But then last summer I saw a Daihatsu Move in San Francisco with California license plates (how'd that happen?) Boeing uses these little vans around their plants. I saw some Subaru Sambar there, and some old ones (pre-85 so they can be licensed) for sale on eBay. Quote Link to comment
Jason
The ones around plants like Boeings' are speed limited and governed so they can't exceed 25mph. These guys will do 60 so it's all good once you remove the governor! I drove my old one down to Seattle on I-5 and man, people just stared! Quote Link to comment
Javin
I totally didnt realize you were canadian. That explains why you got one of those. Still a cool car :) Quote Link to comment

It isn't the money, it's the principal dude, more than half the price of gas up here is tax from 4 levels of government! Quote Link to comment
FoxyRoadster
you can get these legal in some states, they are legal here in OK for non-interstate use... I'm wondering if I could get a cappuccino legal under the same law... since there is no age limit at all.. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
mAybe ok no care, but US Customs will. You can't bring them in as federal DOT won't allow it. And if you don't declare it at the border, that is considered a crime. but no problem for 25 year old JDM cars Quote Link to comment
