  1. I believe the 2nd set of points switch is also the neutral safety switch on the trans.I could be wrong. But thats how 521's are set up. 2nd points pedal switch, carb switch, trans switch are all hooked together if you unhook one, the neutral safety wont work unless you bypass them somehow.
  2. nice find. good eye. more pics.
  3. Nice work guys. Lots of progress is always good. You guys do more to your truck in one week than I do to my 3 in a year.

    J13 Rebuild

nice work. I've always liked light blue. I did my first l20b in chrysler light blue.
  5. This explains why when I bought plugs from nissanparts.cc they were way smaller than the ones for my 521. now maybe I can sell them knowing what they are.
  6. very nice. what brand of white paint did you use for your rims? flat satin or glossy?
  7. HeHe. Thanks I hope to do the other side tomorrow. I may be out of the grove by then but I'll surly come by and help you guys stuff yours into your oven  . Nothin better than A self cleaning datsun :D :P I've been screwing around with making some inner engine compartment mud flaps. I may make a few on the side to sell. I have the right side done and will do the left side soon.
  8. Thanks. I just used basic stuff. Simple green and a green brillo pad and a brush. The left side that takes all the tire abuse was harder so I used a small amount of comet on it.
  9. I would be sad too. How about a happy pic of what she used to look like. Better to remember her the way she was.
  10. Very nice. One thing I never understood is that it looks evenly rectangled where as the 521 rear glass is tapered slightly. But I know they fit.
  11. Thanks guys! I just painted one of my rims white. chipped the hell out of it putting the hub cap back on. Damn it. 3 more to go. I was looking at the wheel well and decided to make a couple test scrapes to see if I wanted to clean it. So I spent 20 minutes cleaning it. It came out better then I thought it would. before after why do 3 of my valve stems look different? Is this an old style or something? Any advantages or disadvantages to them?
  12. Gauge needles were falling again. same symptom I stick my hand under the dash and tap the gauge volt red or push on it and the needles pop up. I took the cluster out and looked at it and the terminal was loose on the printed circuit board. So I drilled out the rivet holding it on and replaced it with a tight screw. This means I replaced my gauge volt reg for nothing.
  13. this truck has been sold many times over the last few months. It'l be up again soon I'm sure.
  14. can you please put the prices back in next to the sold stuff so i know what they went for.
  15. ok I re-adjusted the valves to .006 intake and .008 exhaust and when I got to the last valve which was #3 exhaust it was loosened all the way somehow. maybe I didnt tighten it last time but the the ball stud had turned several rotations all the way down giving me something like .045 clearence on the lash. no more ticking :D
  16. Now if he can find me a clock and some tailgate chains and window felt and radio delete plate we'll be gettin somewhere. :D
  17. this is only true if you know how many of each he has in stock.
  18. two piece dash boards are referred as the top being the vinyl dash cap and the bottom being the metal dash pan.

  20. Welcome, I've always liked that cream color.
  21. I bought the kit it was a k660. Thats what I put on my 72 521. I have found on a few adapters that the holes on the carb need to be drilled over slightly for the studs to come up straight through the mounting holes. even when matching new in the kit.
  22. Holy shit. There is a near by gas station making a killing.
